Nice place in New York to have some karhi rolls. The rolls are really close to some bengali rolls. There are some authentic... rolls including some bengali snacks like jhal muri and all. But jhal muri has too much mustard oil but close to the Indianversion. Nice place to hang out for sure! Read more

MUST stop by this place if you?re ever in NYC, for authentic street food rolls!! My husband tried the unda aloo roll and I got... the Aloo paneer roll. Both were so flavorful, spicy - tangy and delicious. Absolutely Loved it! Read more

Thelewala is a classic Calcutta style street food joint on the busy MacDougall street in WV. Students & foodies alike swarm this... place for it's yummy Kathi rolls and snacks. Long bookmarked on my list, I finally visited one evening after a tiring citibikeride from across town. First impressions, this place is cramped! It literally feels like a mini two floor street carttransformed into a fast casual restaurant. Nonetheless, the menu is interesting - with tempting combinations making up a varietyof kathi rolls and flavor-explosive snacks like Jhalmuri & Bhelpuri. I ended up getting their Jhalmuri, Gobi Paneer and OkraKathi rolls. The Jhalmuri nicely elevates your taste buds and wets your appetite for the hot & fresh kathi rolls. Both of whichtasted authentic & delicious - as if you were eating on the streets. You could taste the smokiness from the light chargrill ofthe Gobi and the nostalgia of the simple Bhindi masala (Okra) from India. While it claims to be an affordable spot, it's stilla tad pricey than what it should be i.e. Street food. Overall a good grab-n-go Indian-style wraps spot with a delightful spicytwist! Read more

The jhal muri was to die for. The rolls were ok. Kinda dry and they don't have any sauces to help. But if you are hungry late at... night, this is a good one Read more

It is a small space with seating for 4-5 people. Ordered Pani Puri and bhel. The Bhel was good but the Pani Puri had no flavor.... Minimal effort, semi fresh puris given in box with smashed potatoes. Have had their spicy chicken roll too, the chicken was okaybut the spicy level was great (not for everyone) Read more

I guess I have been long enough in US now that I totally forgot how flavourful Indian food can be. God, I missed some raw green... chilly, lemon and cilantro. I ordered some veg roll and bhel puri. This place left my palate satisfied and thankful. Tea sucks. It's mostly water. Expecting a good tea is probably too much to ask anyways. Read more

Best place in town to eat Kathi rolls. I personally enjoyed the chata pata paneer roll here. It is very tasty and flavorful. I... have been there almost 3-4 times while our trip in NY. They have many other options in menu and give quick service. They haveonly a few tables for outdoor seating. Read more
