Got here and was seated right away. I ordered the chicken and gravy with collard greens and mac and cheese and it was really... nice. It came out quickly, the chicken was nice and crispy but the gravy was a little bit salty for my liking, I still enjoyedit though. The greens were tender, the mac and cheese was cooked perfectly and the sauce was nice and creamy. Both were seasonedwell, and it was a good sized portion. I would definitely come back here again. Incredible Vegan Food! Tasted like Sundays in the South, the only thing missing was a paper plate and some orange soda. Yo, the... collard greens were incredible and succulent bursting with flavor, and that mac-n-cheese was like no other vegan option I'veever tried. The best vegan chicken I?ve ever had. The mac and cheese is amazing - again, probably the best veganized version I?ve had. I?m... not a potato salad person but even that was delicious. Excellent service, lovely outdoor dining setup, and delicious food. I especially enjoyed the beautifully charred crust on the... Beyond patty as well as the Cajun spice blend for the corn on the cob. The potato salad was also quite good, with a perfecttexture and a subtle sweetness. Read more
This small all vegan restaurant offers a variety of comfort soul food. The ambience is pleasant with flowers and a very... friendly staff. It's a bit pricey for the size portions you get, but it's all plant based and fresh. Read more
Went to VeganHood's soft opening yesterday for brunch and it was everything I hoped it would be. Best vegan fried chicken... around. Beautiful outdoor dining and they did a great job on the whole design of the place. Will be back soon for dinner. Edit:went back last night for dinner and again, everything was delicious. I've tried many Vegan restaurants throughout the country and a few internationally. So my critique is from a diverse vegan... palate. I ordered the Flatbush (vegan oxtails) with Mac & cheese and collard greens. This dish was perfectly seasoned with aspin on the traditional southern comfort green and the gravy in the oxtail was sinfully good. I also tasted my friends steak andeggs with potatoes- this dish was also very tasty and texture was on point! The other dish I tried was the chicken and waffles.This dish was a classically done and will satisfy any body's craving for a classic chicken and waffle, paired well with thebottomless mimosas. I also noticed while dining there that the nachos were some of the patron's favorite! I gave Vegan Hood 5stars because overall the servers were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. My server was Quay and she deserved a gold star.The scene is super cute-unique ambiance. Restaurant was clean to include the bathroom. I am not vegan, but enjoy vegan food. This restaurant had good portion sizes, comfortable and pleasant seating and everything... was well cooked and seasoned. The potato salad was so good I cant believe it was dairy free. Would recommend and would alsovisit again. Read more
