Reviews for ViceVersa in New York, NY
Best Oso Bucco we’ve had. We have had great Oso Bucco before in Italy and restaurants owned and run by Italians here in the... states. Wine selection was very good and included two fabulous reds on the less expensive per glass offerings. Ambiance wasgreat and service treated us very well. Very pleased with our date night here. Limited menu options, somewhat bland food with minimal effort for presentation, poor service. Decided to try it since I live in... the area but was disappointed and won’t go back. Even had to correct one of the charges on the bill which was wrong. Had themeatball appetizer (best thing we had but why did I have to ask for parmesan at an Italian restaurant?), veal cutlet, and pastawith duck. Everything needed salt. Read more
Food was nice but not amazing. Rather expensive for what it was. The duck ragu was the highlight, the lasagne rather... disappointing, slightly cool & lacking in flavour. The vibe felt more business. I'd recommend trying other places and wouldn'tgo back. Read more
Drinks and service was great, the dessert was good, but unfortunately food wasn't as good as the other things the restaurant had... to offer. Had the grilled octopus, the garnish was tasty, but the octopus itself was bland. For entrée git the swordfish, itwas agan bland and quite undercooked that I had to return it. Read more
We were there on October ‘21 . Service was attentive, cocktails superb, and food wise delicious.
The service here was impeccable. For our food we started with the mozzarella salad which was yummy. We then moved onto the... scallop dish, the ravioli, and the seafood stir fry. Overall really good dining experience! Read more
Went here before a Broadway show. The waiter was very good, friendly ( but not overly) and had good suggestions. The food was... heavy. We had the octopus app, octopus slightly warm but potato salad was cold. That was fine but octopus could be warmer ifthey wanted to have a hot/ cold contrast. The spinach garganelli should have been good but the sauce was too heavy. The shortribs were heavy and the sauce was too thick. The almont tart for dessert was the best course. Price wise, its not bad for thefood; location wise, its a good pretheatre choice. It was just heavy. Read more
Trust me, this restaurant is one of the very best for genuine Italian cuisine. Ask for the truffle risotto with tableside finish... of shaved imported fresh truffles in season or the short ribs that are consistently extraordinary. The service is impeccable andowner Franco and his staff make you feel at home. I come to NYC often just for the Vice Versa experience whether a plannedcelebration, brunch or a last minute pop-in. Always consistently excellent. Read more
