Good Greek dinner spot. Got delivery of: -Veggie Souvlaki Wrap $11.95 -Tiropita $7.25 -Spanakopita $7.25 -Lemon Potatoes... $5.95 -Lamb/Beef Gyro $11.95 The Lemon Potatoes were out of this world. The tiropita and spanakopita were healthy portions andquite good. The souvlaki wrap and gyro's were just okay. I've had better for both. Not overly stuffed like other places. I'dstill come back to get other Greek specialties if I don't want to venture over to Astoria. Read more

Stopped in here to get a beef gyro and it was very good. There was no one inside so there were plenty of seats, great atmosphere... and great service. Looking forward to returning. Read more

We bought the Veggie Souvlaki sandwich. Its good for the price. The ambience is good, too. A nice, small store which is not too... crowded. Its worth trying. Read more

I finally came back to Yia Yia Homemade Greek Food after after almost 8 months. First discovered the place as it's a stones... throw away from New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where I had a minor operation on my hand from a bike fall. Iremember I was so hungry after release from the hospital and saw this Greek place. So, decided to come back as I was in the areato deliver a Christmas gift. There is quite a number of items on the menu. Souvlakis, Gyros, Salads, Sandwiches and Burgers, Ona stick to name a few. I decided to get the same items from my first visit. I ordered the lamb/beef gyro, which is served inwrapped pita with tomato, onion, lettuce and tzatziki ( a sauce made of strained yogurt mixed with cucumbers, garlic, salt, olive oil, sometimes with vinegar or lemon juice and herbs such as dill, mint, parsley and thyme). Also, got the chicken gyro aswell with the same ingredients. For dessert, got the rice pudding (yia yia or rizogalo) which is a no butter, egg free lookslike a custard and flavored with vanilla, lemon peel or orange zest. So, after ordering the food to go and a quick commute backhome, prepared the food. How was it? Just as good as I remember it. The Lamb/Beef was amazing, unusual combination as I wouldthink you would separate the two Meats but by combining them, they create a unique, quite delicious flavors. The chicken gyrowas good too though maybe not as much as the lamb/beef though it can definitely hold its own. The rice pudding was sweet thoughnot overly and seemed as great combination with the gyros. It was worth making the trip back and Yia Yia is definitely a placewith good food. Highly recommend. Excellent food at a good value.. Quick service even during lunchtime. Gyro was thin and crispy, lemon potatoes a nice change... from fries, good Greek salad, and fresh pita. Read more

Wonderful food, great atmosphere, relaxing place to take a load off and enjoy some authentic Greek cuisine. The falafels are... amazing, I had the pork souvlaki and my husband had the lamb, all of it was great! Plates run $9-14 a plate just depending onwhat your looking for, not too bad for NYC and soo worth it! Read more
