My experience eating at Yopparai was quite pleasant. We were immediately seated at 7:15pm with a reservation for 7:30pm and were... instructed to take off our shoes so that we could sit at the dining area. We ordered the Tsukune (Homemade Chicken MeatballTopped with Raw Egg Yolk), Hotate Butter (Grilled Scallop in Soy based butter sauce), and the Ika Ichiyazuke (Grilled WholeMarined Squid) for the appetizers. They were all around $16-$18 each, which is honestly not too bad for the quality of the foodthat was received. We also ordered the 10 piece chef's choice sushi for $85. The Chicken Meatball was really delicious. On theperimeter of the dish was this chopped radish-textured formation that was coated beautifully in this soy-based sauce. It was theperfect amounts of sour and savory. We had to mix in the raw egg yolk with the meatball and it tasted absolutely amazing. Icould not stop eating the Hotata Butter scallops, the butter mixture was so rich and flavorful, and the added lemon juicecomplemented the scallops and the sauce perfectly. The scallops were also extremely tender and flavorful, and they even put salton the side to add an extra zing. The grilled squid was also extremely appetizing and delicious, and they gave an extremelygenerous amount of squid that was addicting to eat. Lastly was the omakase-styled sushi part of the dinner. They gave usgenerous amounts of fish ranging from salmon roe, botan ebi, yellowtail, tuna, chutoro, salmon, fluke, and uni. Each piece wascurated beautifully and was an absolute pleasure to eat. Overall my experience was great and my stomach was pleasantlysatisfied at the end. We also got the Yopparai Partfait at the very end, which was $12 for vanilla ice cream, a ton of whippedcream, sliced bananas, strawberries, and cereal. It was a perfect way to end the dinner and the night. Read more

Indoor seating is basically tatami, except for a few bar seats! Yopparai is for yakitori, so please make a reservation and try... it! Read more

What a hidden gem! The place had an amazing sake menu, very fresh sashimi and delicate dishes. It is also important to point out... that the sushi rice was especially tasty. We sat at the counter and it was a lot of fun observing the chefs and the uniqueJapanese decorations. It felt like we were getting an almost omakase experience without the omakase price tag. I would love tocome back and try their tatami seatings next time! Read more

Very fun, sat at a great table by the window. Portions are slightly in the smaller size, but overall atmosphere is excellent and... dishes are authentic and very tasty. Great fried items, and nice bbq. Read more

AMAZING. The best miso I've ever had (botan shrimp base), and their chawanmushi is so delicious. Every bite of their sushi and... their chirashi is melt-in-your-mouth fresh seafood and the rice is seasoned perfectly. It's pricey tho so it remains a specialoccasion kinda place for me and my wallet anyway - but it's always worth it when I go! Read more

Ended up spending ~$80 per person for a terrific experience. Good vibes and delicious food overall. The karaage and tsukune were... the stars, but everything was on point. A bit pricey for me so would be happy to come back only for a special occasion. Read more
