First time visiting this buffet on a Sunday afternoon. Very Busy. Waited approx 30 mins to be seated. They gave me a number and... had plenty of seats inside while I waited even tho several people chose to wait outside in the front. The variety was good. Thechairs were very comfortable. The bathrooms were clean. The food was piping hot. The Mongolian BBQ was delicious. The servicewas great! Our server, Frank, was always refilling our drinks with haste and cleared our plates as soon as we finished. Veryfriendly too! Didn't understand English very well but overall, very nice. Yes, diaper changing table in woman's largest stallin bathroom. Price on Sundays is dinner price of $28.99 all day and $1.99 for drink. Will definitely come back for birthday(reserve a room). Numerous seafood selection, along with all-you-can eat sashimi, crab legs, and crawfish which are available for dinner. For the... price, this is quite possibly THE BEST Chinese-Japanese all-you-can-eat buffet IN THE ENTIRE BAY AREA now that Moonstar Buffetin Daly City has closed. Newark Buffet is a very clean, organized and well-managed restaurant, offering reasonable prices. I?ve seen wedding receptions held here because it?s just that good. Here you?ll also see some of the hardest working peoplearound. The servers will frequently check in on you and are very attentive to refilling your drinks and taking away your usedplates. I have been coming here for over 10 years and the customer service, quality of dishes, and ambiance have just steadilyimproved. There is a positive, wholesome vibe in this place. The only thing is the floor in the buffet area can be a bitslippery at times, probably from the oils from the food, so please be careful especially if you or someone in your party hastrouble walking. Food was okay, we were craving sushi but sushi selection wasn?t that great, imitation crab and no real fish. It was a fun... experience, staff was attentive and friendly, but I?m a little spoiled from the wonderful buffets while living in Las Vegas! Nocrab legs for lunch, lunch price $16-17. Read more

This is the best buffet I?ve ever gone to in the last 10 years. No, this is not an exaggeration. The reason I give this place... such high praise is because of the staff: never have I seen staff at a buffet be as attentive and proactive as the ones here atNewark Buffet. Whether it is serving drinks, clearing plates, refilling buffet dishes, or refilling the plates, there was staffeverywhere attending to every table and station. Rather than having empty dishes piling up, I had to tell my waitress not totake a plate yet because there was a small piece of food still on it - that?s how frequently she came by. When I got up to goget ice cream, I came back to the check waiting on the table. The service here are ON IT, even on a busy night (which is prettymuch every night). In terms of food, most items are fresh due to the quick turnover and active refills. There were only a fewthings I found to be lackluster, but they were switched out before I finished eating. There?s a bit of everything - dim sum, classic Chinese-American fare, seafood, sushi AND sashimi, cold bar, salad bar, made-to-order hibachi, desserts including eggtarts, and of course the ubiquitous ice cream machine. Oysters are definitely the most popular thing here. They get refilledless often, and when they do a huge line forms immediately with every person grabbing at least 3. If you really want to trythem, I suggest waiting by the tray or sitting somewhere where you can see it. Overall I spent $30, including tip on a busyTuesday night. Given the selection and service, I would say it?s worth it. Read more

Showed up right at 11am when they opened. Thursday lunch buffet and everything was cold or room temperature. We thought we'd... give it a chance but it's worse than the reviews give it credit for. It would appear the food is set out cold and expected towarm while on the buffet. While I did not see a rat in the blinds I did have lettuce of some kind stuck to my spoon, clear asday. I am now a believer in the many people who recommended not coming here. Go get 1 good hearty meal anywhere else for lessthan $19. Read more

March 8, 2022, while my husband and kids were having a buffet at this restaurant Newark Buffet, I ate a wire of steel wool. It... was my husband's birthday on March 8th, and our family went to Newark Buffet to celebrate, and I brought some pasta and otherthings for the children. The child didn't eat it. In order not to waste it, I took the rest and ate it myself, but I feltsomething stinging in my throat while I was eating. I hurriedly spit out the thing slowly and laboriously, and found that itwas the steel wire of a steel ball. I was very uncomfortable, I told the waiter, the waiter called the manager I told thewaiter, the manager told me not to eat and refunded my personal consumption. I have to pay if I want to keep eating. I chosenot to continue to eat, and finally paid for my husband and children's meals. But the attitude of the restaurant manager tosolve the problem is too bad, I told him I want to complain to him, he said ok, it doesn't matter, he bought insurance. Anindifferent look. this is a food safety accident, but they don't seem to care. Because of this, my husband and I are not in themood to celebrate our birthday. It's horrible, if my child eats it very seriously, he won't know like an adult that he willspit it out, or his throat will be stabbed. They didn't pay me any compensation, they gave me a free bill and asked me to stopeating immediately, and I told the manager that I didn't care when I complained. These are all unacceptable to me. I havealready complained to this restaurant. Read more

It?s so nice that the Newark Buffet is finally open again! The food quality seems to have improved since before the pandemic. I... ate there both at lunch time and at dinner time. Although some of the items are the same, the dinner menu is definitely a stepup with some delicious seafood, including sashimi, oysters on the shell, crayfish and other goodies. The only downsides are thattables aren?t socially distanced at all. Even though most people wore masks when they went to get food at the buffet, somepeople didn?t wear masks and they weren?t being monitored at all. Read more

Amazing place for seafood and meat. This is Asian buffet restaurant. We went here for a lunch and were startled by the variety... of items they serve at the counter such as dumplings, nuggets, fries, shrimp, clams, fish fillet in different sauces. They alsohad sesame balls and egg tart which were not so great, but main course including rice noodles, regular noodles was awesome.Dessert options were chocolate coffee cake, apricots, jellies, fruits etc. I liked this place a lot and I?m definitely visitingagain.
