Subs are one of my favorite things to eat, I set the bar low for them also... so low that my favorite place used to be subway!!... I decided to try this place out just to realize they make their subs a little different. instead of using the bread to hold yoursub as you eat it you are supposed to hold the meat! Here is a photo of my subs... These are 2 different subs...... noticeanything? I didnt at first glance either. I thought something was odd. my sub is missing about 50% of the bread that wassupposed to come with it. when asking for another slice I was mocked, and told id need to pay if I wanted additional bread... I never take for granted high-quality food for delivery on a late-night order. I always feel bad because Claymont is definitely... a ?late night craving? spot for us. But the handful of times we?ve ordered about an hour before close, it?s been deliveredquickly with a smile, and the quality of food is always great! Delicious pizza and a good cheesesteak all in the same spot is awinner in my book! SO appreciative of the friendly service, consistent quality, and delicious food (even when I?m being THATperson and putting in an order at 8pm on a Tuesday night). Read more

Got a Buffalo chicken salad and was not happy with it. Thought it said grilled chicken but it came out with super finely... chopped chicken like for cheesesteak all over top of salad. I didn't like texture and it made salad overall very wet andunpleasant and I threw most of it out. Not what I was expecting. I've had better food from here before. Read more

Well I ordered a Gyro with no tomatoes or onions and guess what they did they put tomatoes and onions on it. The Gyro was just... fair because I could taste them still. If it did not have tomatoes and onions on it it would?ve been excellent. I also orderedextra sauce on it and got charged for extra sauce and there was only a little drizzle if that. Not very happy with myexperience. Read more

I spent $300 dollars on a meal from Claymont. I selected a delivery time of 11:45 am. The was 20 minutes late. I tried to call... and was hung up on. When I finally got through I was told that the order was 10 minutes away. Unfortunately this is not my firstexperience with their tardiness. I will take my money somewhere else next time. Read more

We always have a great experience eating here. The food is delicious and not a lot of people inside so we were able to grab a... table. We typically go in for lunch and have not been in during dinner so I'm not sure if the table situation is different.Plus, we typically go here when the UD students are on a break. Parking is free as well on the side of the restaurant. Read more

I ordered for pickup from the Newark, DE location. The large portions and decent price point. Unfortunately, I did not find the... food tasty. I didn't eat but a few bites of the Steak Cheese Fries and Meatball Sub as it was flavorless. This was my first timeeating here and unsure if this is normal or a one off. I offer no opinion at this time. Read more

NEVER HAVE I EVER?.had a ?Grilled Cheese? that wasn?t ?grilled?. My folks were in town and wanted cheesesteaks, they didn?t want... to drive to Philly so they settled on Claymont steak shop, I personally would have gone somewhere else because I didn?t want acheesesteak from there due to there being bones in two cheesesteaks I ordered from the other location last year, but since Istay in the area and can drive to my favorite spot in Philly whenever I feel like it, I figured I could find something else onthe menu. I am a very finicky eater, I don?t eat large portions and don?t like to waste food?I usually check the kids & 55+Items first lol?they had neither option?so I went with a classic, something you could never go wrong with?oh but it did?I wasprobably too ?lifted? at the time to realize that this classic item was listed under the ?warm? section on the menu but waspromptly informed when I tried to figure out wth was taking a grilled cheese so long O _ O that they make them in the oven! Whatin the total mind *you know what* because correct me if I am wrong?but two pieces of bread in the oven is cheese bread not agrilled cheese?but I?m like whatever, as long as it?s good?well nope?the bread was drier than the Sahara Desert, so maybesomeone forgot to butter my bread or is this how it?s served? I honestly don?t even really care because $4.49 is an irrationalamount to charge for two pieces of bread and cheese that someone throws in the oven for 15 minutes not to mention these littlemushroom crumbs that I got for $6.99 lol. I took that one bite of the sandwich and trashed it, such a waste of time?I just don?tcare to visit this establishment anymore. Read more
