Last night it was packed, mostly college age kids but the vibe was nice for my wife, my man and our friends. Bartenders on both... levels were very nice and efficient. They played great music, I enjoyed my time out on the deck ???????????? I'd mostdefinitely go again ???? Read more

So, Deer Park Tavern has tator tots and bloody marys...which is pretty much why we went. They do a bloody mary bar where they... bring you your choice of alcohol and then you doll it up with your choices for mixers, hot sauces, spices, etc. We didn't dothat - but it looks like they had a bunch of stuff! We had the monte cristo and the ranch-style eggs (I forgot the name). Totswere perfect. Bloody mary was good. Monte cristo was the right ratio of sweet to savory, but way too much loaf ham meat. Rancheggs came in a fried tortilla taco bowl - it was just too big and weird. But the eggs weren't bad. The hardest part of this tripwas waiting for the wait staff, Ali. She was training someone new, and I understand that you might be busy with that. But herand her trainee were just hanging out seemingly chatting in the back. Then noticed us, came out and got our order (we alreadyknew since we had been sitting there waiting on them), and we didn't see them again until we and another table went looking forher so we could pay our bills. She couldn't even be bothered to bring out our food or ask how it was. Then on the way out, whileI was walking through the doorway, another member of the staff darted through the door at the same time...like, why? I guess shewas in a super hurry? Anyways, it seemed really rude. The staff were all probably in their early 20s, in college, trying to makeit - but a little more politeness or customer service might help their time go by quicker on their shifts and make them a littlemore money! Had a chicken pesto sandwich pretty good, but not great. The French fries I get almost everytime I'm here taste like they've... been sitting under a lamp for 6 hours. Back in the day the had the best fries in town... sigh. The French onion steak sandwichremains the best thing on the menu. Read more

Old timey 1800s hotel that excels as a local pub for both the Newark crowd and Blue Hen student body. My Buffalo Wing Egg Roll... was outstanding and the bar tending staff was super attentive and fast af. went back for the Farmhouse Burger, and it wasperfectly prepared. I'm still calling, Best Burger in Newark. Read more

Top notch service. I ordered around 2pm, not knowing that the kitchen was closed from 2-3. When I went in a bit later to check... up on my order, rather than refunding my money and telling me "sorry, we can't make it," the kitchen manager told me to give himten minutes. The Philly burger was delicious, hot, and juicy. I'll definitely be returning anytime I'm in town! Read more

This place is really big inside and even has two bar areas. We've wanted to try it for a while but when college is in session,... it always looks pretty crowded after 7:00. We went on a Wednesday in July and even though the parking lot was full, there wereplenty of tables as well as seats at the largest bar (the other wasn't open). The Brussels sprouts were good but a littleunderdone and the farmhouse burger was good but they were out of mushrooms. (Since it's only about half an hour from themushroom capitol of the East Coast, that seemed odd.) My husband had a pizza which wasn't bad for a bar pizza but I'd suggestgetting something else. The appetizers took quite a long time to come out and fries with the burger were room temp. Thebartenders were personable and the drinks were nice size. Read more

Went for our 40th college reunion (yes you read that right!!)...got there around 6:30, no one was there except a small group of... us. Set up shop at some high top tables and the rest of the group got there between 7:00 and 8:00. Had a good selection ofbeers and some good appetizers. Had a great waitress...Ellen was her name. At around 10:00, all the "kids" showed up. It wasgreat to see that the Deer Park is still the place to go!! We plan on going back sooner than 40 years!! Read more

First time here and was in the area for business. College town, so lots of places to visit. This place was terrific for lunch,... and the food and service were spot on. If I was local I'd be back! Read more
