Recently went here for dinner. Waw a bit reluctant after a horrifying experience at the one in Brandywine Town Center where I... was served a Reuben loaded with gristle. I decided to order the Reuben supermelt here, and I was very pleasantly surprised! Itwas delicious! Served on marble rye bread. Large portion! Happy ending Sundae was superb. At the Newark 4th of July festival we had planned to eat at the food trucks but found there were none (only desserts) so we... ended up at the Friendly's. Despite it being a holiday, the staff was really welcoming and service was very good. My Cobb saladwas very good and the kids enjoyed their chicken (but mostly just ate so they could get ice cream). My wife and oldest orderedburgers and the quality of meat was really really poor which is the only reason I'm taking one star off. The restaurant wasclean, seating was comfortable. It's not a high end restaurant by any means, so my expectations aren't overly high but theburgers were pretty bad. Overall the service was better than average and the rest of the food was pretty good. 4 stars from me.Kids gave the ice cream 5 stars. Read more
My husband and I dropped by Friendly's on Labor day for takeout. To our surprise we were greeted by a nice hostess named Yuli... who truly exemplified the true meaning of great customer service! She was very pleasant and courteous while tending to ourorder. Yuli certainly is a great asset to this Friendly's restaurant! Once back at home we enjoyed our mouth watering Friendly'smeal and dessert! Update* First time back dining inside Friendly's since ease of Covid restrictions in February 2022. Therestaurant is clean, wait staff is friendly and always accommodating. We felt at ease especially not being grouped up amongother tables. Smooth service.
