Went to a reception - the food ordered by the sponsor should have been good. But we were squeezed into a tiny meeting room with... 20+ chairs around the space, with a few standing tables - way too tight for that many people in the age of covid! Some of thefood was ok. Like a cheese & fruit platter. But other food in chafing dishes just weren't that hot. The worst offender was thefried Mozzarella - had cooled, and even worse, were served with COLD marinara sauce that seemed right out of the refrigerator. That was the last straw, and I said good night. It's a shame - good money was spent to have a nice event, and the space and lackof proper food preparation were frustrating. Read more
Excellent food with very generous portion sizes. The Korean chicken salad I had was delicious and filling. My daughter had a... burger that was huge and tasty. Nice atmosphere, reasonable prices. Read more
Our party of five and an infant met for lunch on the outside patio overlooking lively East Main Street. The food was very good... (avocado toast and eggs, fried chicken in a salad) and reasonably priced. Our waitress Sofia was excellent. She was so kind tous and our little grandson and made us feel so welcome and comfortable. Up until recently, I've had a very good experience with this place, but a few nights ago, I went in there with my girlfriend... (soon to be wife) and went up to the second floor to party. We were literally just sitting there talking (being a little sillywith each other because we had three drinks over the course of an hour and a half before), and then I got told to leave, but notmy girlfriend. I'm reasonably sure that the bouncers assumed I was a drunk harassing a stranger, but they read the situationentirely wrong. When my girlfriend tried to ask them why I was getting kicked out but not her, they refused to give ananswer. Other than that, the food's good, and the people serving the food are friendly. They're very good at rememberingfaces of people that order regularly, which is a huge plus and shows that they have a friendly atmosphere. Just wish thebouncers had read the situation better. I didn't even get a warning or anything like that. I wasn't even drinking inKlondike's at that point in the night, as my gf and I were just trying to vibe and enjoy our short time together (she lives inthe UK, and we rarely get to actually be together). They just straight came up to me, tapped me on the shoulder, and kicked meout. My gf was not happy about this, and it did sully our night a bit. Read more
This is a bar/restaurant a short walk from the university. This is a popular place for the college students. The first time I... was there, it was packed, very noisy, and service was very slow. So we left. We recently returned and had a nice meal. Servicewas good, and food was very good. If you don't mind the noise, then going when it is crowded will be fine. If you want a quieterexperience, go in one of their off hours and you will have an enjoyable experience. Read more
This is a throwback college bar on the main drag near the University of Delaware. I loved the ambiance and the vibe. Obviously... this place is popular with students when school is in session. The sandwiches were really tasty. I would stop here again. Read more
Nice place. We were impressed that the food was so good. The tables, some walls and benches, have names carved all over them.... I'm assuming that its supposed to give the place character, but it feels more old and unclean in certain places. The waiter wasreally friendly and the food came out super fast. They have a nice outdoor deck for nicer weather. We would go again, maybe sitat the bar and try some of their drinks. Read more
We literally just left this place after completing a tour with U of D. I always look for places like this in any town we fancy.... Places that look as if they've stood the test of time and have become a staple in the local community. In a nutshell, thislittle gem was exactly what we were looking for today. The place was decorated as festively as possible, the hostess immediatelygreeted us and sat us down, waiter was right on it as well. Food was surprisingly above what was expected.
