Not Authentic. Staff was all white people, even the music was country. Food was okay. I had tacos which were good, my partner... got the fajitas with seafood (he said they were VERY salty). Crab wasn't real crab. I would say a good place if you just wantsome drinks and tacos. Not if you are expecting real Mexican food. Read more
If you start eating here you will keep coming back. The food is delicious and seems healthy and home made. An authentic Mexican... style place with seating indoors. Go here for a good meal.... although primarily take out, you will pay less for a well servedmeal in a restaurant. Delicious.The workers are professional, caring people!!! Although I live in Liverpool, NY this is well worth the drive to Newark, NY. You are warmly greeted and seated. They served... chips and salsa as we looked at the menu....our food and service was wonderful! And we will make a repeat trip. Read more
I have been going to eat here for years. The food is great if you can get past the service, let me explan. The last few times... the service has been maybe at a 7. This last visit was 0. They sat us quickly as usual. Brought Chips and salsa and we askedfor the warm cheese dip to have with it. We were told yes they would get it. The waitress came to the table and ask what wewould,like,to drink. We ordred frozen drinks. She asked if we're ready to order as well. This is nothing new sense we prettymuch always know before we get there. This is not the first time we were given this particular waitress. We talk and ate thechips and waited for the cheese dip. About 10 min. Still no drinks! After a few more chips with hot sauce and cheese,Iwas,getting more thirsty. Finally I just stopped eating. Waiting for my drink and she ran just mine to tje table. "I did notforget you. I was making your drinks!" As she walked away. Waited and our dinner came. Now,we havw had 3,different peoplewaiting on us. Then as we,just looked at each other ready to walk out, they bring out husbands drink. The food is that good. Andyes,my husband ordered pork and it was far from dry as we were told by a waitress at Captain Jacks! After we ate,we received outcheck. She ran our card and brought back a check that was more than the check she gave us. My husband pointed out thedifference. She grabbed the check and crumbled it up in her hand." That was because I did not add,the cheese dip to your bill"with A huge attitude as if it was our fault. "Well that happens when you do not order it from me" I said really. The cheese tookfor ever the drinks came after the food and you run our card with out telling us it was more!! She tossed the receipt on thetable while I was letting her know my disappointment in here service and he ethics, and said "Oh well" and mumbled under herbreath as she cleaned up the table behind us. Would give 0 stars if possible. Called to place an order twice. Was placed on hold both times for over 15 minutes both times,... and we could hear them on the other side just chit chatting the whole time. Tried going to the restaurant in person, but by thetime we got there, they had closed early for the night. Read more
