I really love the Pub in Newport. Sadly, none of the others (so far) seem to measure up. I don?t understand why, but there it... is. Got the Fish n Chips, which should be a slam dunk, right? The fish was good. The batter? Not so much. It might be afunction of the fryer temp being too low. It would explain the soggy fries, too. The cole slaw was amazingly annoying. I wish Icould say it was old and fermenting. But, I really believe they were shooting for that flavor. Sigh. The iced tea came in abottle. Ugh. Does that mean you have to pay for a refill? Not a particularly authentic Irish pub with rap music playing and their Bud Light banner hanging, but they did serve Guinness... (albeit that may be the only stout available). Definitely Americanized. However, their Irish pie was tastey and I did enjoytheir Shanty style poutine. Read more

Great food and great drinks. It was our first time coming there, and it was busy. Good thing I put in a reservation, we had a... sit right outside, and the wait staff was friendly. They have a cool looking bar inside. The website was not that friendly so Itook pics of the menu. Read more

They were VERY busy and I think the bar tender was having a bad night. It doesn't take much effort to at least smile. Food was... food. I got the fish and chips. Fish was very tasty which is sometimes hit or miss with this dish. I could have eaten the entirething but just couldn't, it was a huge portion! Fries were OK. Not bad but not great. This is a nice casual spot right down the road from the Sunapee lodge. They have a full bar and a large covered patio seating... area. The bloody Mary's were good and the poutine was delicious. Nothing fancy but solid food and service. Read more
