Hot dogs should fun and not pretentious. This place did not disappoint. I've tried different hot dog shops from coast to coast... and chef's is in the top tier. I had boston dog with baked beans and grilled onions. I'd never had this combo before and thebacon wrapped dog made this pop. The other one I tried was the Prairie dog with onion dip and drizzled potatoes. This was goodalso, but beware the onion dip makes it a little rich. I had a conversation with the cook and found out he's been there 5 yearsand loves his customers. This is exactly the quality you should have in your staff and why I always try to stick to independentrestaurants. Chefs Dog House has an unassuming and relaxed environment. They have a fantastic menu and honestly that is all that matters. The... hot dog is delicious. The chili is flavorful and had a great snap. I love the condiment trough. I didn't think one hot dog wouldbe so filling but it was. Definitely great place to have a quick lunch. Read more

Looking for great eats off the beaten path? We were on a trip up to Maine and were in the area around lunchtime. Navigated... to the Dog House because they listed that they had gluten free options. This is definitely the place that locals go for lunch! Not much ambiance, but food is fresh and cooked to order. No fillers in the burgers. Salads are made from fresh, not baggedlettuce. Portions are very generous. Place is worn but very clean - even the bathroom. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinneron all days except Sunday (until 2 pm) Ignore the facade and try the food! Read more

Well I'm from Georgia visiting a friend and for some reason had an urge for hot dogs so I googled and found this local spot.... Typically I don't like spots that are connected to convenience stores nothing against it, just me personally. Once I got insidethe restaurant it reminded me of a spot back home that we used to have in my small town. I was skeptical and didn't know what tothink but the guy was very friendly. The menu is very interesting because of the creative selection of hot dogs. I'm veryobservant in customer service and my surroundings and the guy was very engaging with all the customers that came through.Through little conversation I realized that he's related to the owner. I wish I could have met the owner to tell him how greatthe food was! I advise anyone who loves hot dogs to check out this place. It's great two thumbs up ????????! Read more

This unassuming American classic is definitely something that you're going to want to try and experience. The staff is extremely... friendly and was able to make me an item that was not on the menu at my request. Everything came out hot fresh and made withcare and quality. Definitely a fair price for what you get. I will definitely be returning to this place. Read more
