I tried takeout at this place for this first time, looking for an espresso drink. The parking was great, and the inside was... adorable with tables and chairs. I purchased a sfogliatella which was delicious. The latte...not so much. The coffee tastedburnt and bitter which was a little disappointing. I would come again, though, to try more pastries. My family have been eating at south end since it moved to newington. The food is outstanding and the ambiance is even better.... The owners are always friendly and willing to please their customers. I would highly recommend the Southend Cafe and PastryShop. Read more
just today tried going on a cute date with my girlfriend there. it?s very nice inside, but the owner is very rude, aggressive... and kicked us out before we even finished our food. obviously this is very disappointing for us and definitely will not return.but go to The Little Cake Café which is 6 minutes away and much more friendlier to their customers Read more
Pleasantly surprised. For a coffee and dessert place primarily the pizza was excellent. I had the pizza slice for a quick lunch... and it was delicious. The white slice spinach and sausage and the traditional slice with sauce. Would go back for a slice ofpizza again. Many choices of desserts to choose from. Read more
Have visited multiple times. Staff is friendly. They have good coffee, delicious treats and a clean open space. Bathrooms are... available, spacious and well maintained. I would say the coconut macaroons and cupcakes are the best. They sell pastry, cookies,biscuits, cup cakes, cakes, cannoli. Items are priced by the pound and packed in nice boxes so it makes for a great treat tobring for family, coworkers and friends. Read more
I wish it was easier to access from the Berlin turnpike because I would be going there much more often. I had a delicious egg... and cheese sandwich on a croissant and a great latte. Lots of yummy looking pastries I'll be trying next time. Read more

Fabulous pastries. I always get the cheese Danish. The maple walnut coffee cake was an experience everyone should enjoy. The... lobster tails or sfogliatella, are amazing too. I don't think they do latte's but my wife loves their coffee. We even askedwhere they get their coffee beans from and have been buying them exclusively for 2 years now (Sacuzzo: see my review).
