Neat little restaurant in Crossnore between Boone and Linville Falls. Unique menu with many tasty options. We got the blackened... salmon entree and grilled trout which were both amazing and the grilled sweet potato was delicious. Staff was super friendlyand helpful. Highly recommend checking it out while passing through. Read more

Very eclectic and cozy atmosphere, the decor were paintings of local artist, the place was very well put. Our server Joe was... very accommodating and highly attentive. This skill and ethic is slowly fading, so without any food fare?the experience was wonalready, Outstanding. The menu was explained and specials were paraded and our questions answered. We are out of towners andcome yearly to the NC High Country, sadly this is the first time here after passing this venue quite a bit. Glad we landed hereand will be repeat customers. For starters we ordered the smoked trout dip, it was good, however; for our palette, it was overlysalted, didn?t stop from finishing it ????. As a unanimous decision we all ordered the grilled trout with various sides rangingfrom mashers, bacon green beans, Mac and cheese and corn. Every single item was exquisitely executed. Everything on the platewas wonderful and the plates were wiped clean. What caught my attention was the corn?..usually served as compote, kerneled anddrowning in juices in a sad little bowl?..nope. A whole corn on the cob that was beautifully roasted and seasoned, well done. The other item that took the stage were the ?mashers? made from red potatoes. Served plain, no gravy. I would hope peoplerealize how hard it is to pull off mashed potatoes without some sort of dressing/gravy, well?.it was done here. Nothing else wasneeded, no extra butter, no gravy, no aus jus?nothing. They were killer mashed potatoes!!! As for the main scope: the grilledtrout. Beautifully cooked! Wasn?t overcooked, the flakiness was wonderful, moist even after a grilling. The seasoning was onpoint, not salty at all. The skin on fillet was charred around the skin and gave it that crunchy contrast and of course thegrill taste. The plate(s) were outstanding! Desserts were very good, the banana pudding came in a small mason jar, it wasgood?.however it was 2/3?s whipped cream and a 1/3 ?banana pudding??..more pudding please! The strawberry cake Read more

Not from the area, stopped by for lunch on the recommendation of a local. Very small unassuming place. Had driven by it a couple... times and didn't even notice it. Glad some one told us to go. Food was excellent. My husband had the salmon which he said wascooked perfectly. I had the Pot Roast which was one of the specials of the day-excellent. We did get desserts, but next timewill pass on those. They were a little on the expensive side. But besides that would definitely return. Seems to be plenty ofparking. We went for lunch so it wasn't to busy. Thinking they get pretty packed for supper. Check their web page for opentimes. They are not open everyday and also close for a couple hours in-between lunch and dinner. Read more

This was our first time here and the food was absolutely delicious. The service was also very good. We had the Cuban and... grilled tuna sandwiches with their home made chips. They also served us picked cucumbers which were a nice appetizer. The foodwas so good that we got 2 more meals for takeout. Read more

Exquisite and extremely reasonably priced. No marketing hype, just an excellent restaurant with great attention to detail & an... extremely down-to-earth, professional, hospitable staff. The shrimp and grits was among the best I've ever had, noexaggeration... from New York to Florida to California....extremely memorable. The seafood chowder top shelf. The quality of thesmoked trout and the generosity of the portion gave us a new bar for fresh fish. We can't recommend this restaurant highlyenough and plan to make it a planned, destination stop, anytime we're in the vicinity of it. Read more
