We got there for our anniversary dinner and we booked the table at last minute but they are willing to take us in. The decor is... comfortable and the tables are not too close together and the service are quite friendly and feels like I am treated as if I amone of their family member.. warm vibe :) Now , let’s talk about The food… In general, it’s above average and the qualityis there. The only down side is we ordered Mussels but the Mussels turns out to be quite small unfortunately for us. The cookingof the dish is great but the “meat” inside the Mussels shell is very small or it would have been a great dish. We got thegrilled calamari and veal Marsala. The calamari are perfectly cooked with no complaints and the veal Marsala are quite soft withyummy Marsala sauce that goes very well with the veal and also the marsh potatoes. It’s not cheap but I would say it’s agood choice for special occasions! As dessert, I recommend get the pistachio cheese cake. It’s made with Mascarpone cheesewith pistachio extract from Italy according to the restaurant. It’s the same extract ppl would use to make Gelato. It’s notthe kind of flavor I get to try often personally… so give this baby a try if u have a chance! I will definitely come again!! Read more

I had a surprise birthday celebration for my husband yesterday at Luna Ristorante. It was FANTASTIC!! From the moment I... contacted Melanie, she ensured all if my plans would be perfect. We had it in their event room in the back. 25 people. Here isa pic of the table setup. We had a preset menu and had everyone choose the food ahead of time. We had arranged seating whichcoordinated with the orders so the service was like clockwork. Cassie and Katrina were our servers and were so great witheveryone. Needless to say … the food at Luna Ristorante was delicious. Everyone commented on how great it was. I was toopreoccupied and forgot to take pictures ??????? Thank you Melanie and Dom and the staff for making this a greatcelebration. Luna Ristorante is most definitely a favourite restaurant in the Newmarket and Aurora area. This family run restaurant priorities are quality of their food and impeccable service! Husband and wife run the front of the... house without missing a beat, they enlisted the help of their son to ensure that our event ran smoothly. 26 guests in total andnot one incorrect meal was served, each appetizer drink order and steak was perfect! Not even the KEG gets every single ordercorrect so this speaks how well this restaurant is ran. Every dish was very tasty with lots of flavor that will surely pleaseevery foodies pallet. The true Italian family feel that Mel and Dom bring to their restaurant is why we keep coming back! IfYOU'RE looking for a place where everybody will treat you like family THIS IS YOUR PLACE! Lovely place! Great service, absolutely delicious food! The shrimp was cooked to perfection in our risotto dishes. Flavours on... the lamb skewers were surprising. Even the wine recommendations were on point. Loved the ravioli as well. Oh yeah, and thedesert was amazing! Read more
Booked a dinner here for a date night with my girlfriend. Everyone was very friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant was... wonderful. The food was delicious! We loved every one of the dishes we chose. However, I am going to have to take off one staras the waiting service could have been a lot faster. I admit they were very friendly and courteous, but we had to wait a verylong time to place our order, get water re-fills, and get the bill. I had attempt and wave down a waiter for over 10 minutes attimes. I believe this was due to them being understaffed on that day as there was only two waiters waiting on the wholerestaurant. It was understandable that the service was slow as there was clearly a lack of resources for the night. I hope thiswas just an off night. The rest of the experience was wonderful outside of that. This was such a wonderful experience! Food was so fresh, delicious taste, beautiful presentation. It felt like a little piece of... Italy in Newmarket! We try the seafood risotto and rack of lamb, and mussels as appetizers! Everything was so good! We aredefinitely coming back! Plus the staff was so welcoming and kind! I've always wanted to try this Italian restaurant since it opened, and I was NOT disappointed! ???????? I came here with my two... girlfriends for dinner on a Wed eve and was surprised by how busy it was for a week night! Despite being busy we were seatedright away and had waters brought to us however when we ordered a bottle of wine for the table it took about 20m to come. Whenwe ordered our food as well it unfortunately took well over an hour, which when you're starving, is no joy to wait. When thefood did arrive however, we were absolutely delighted by the taste and quality ???? ???? Everything was cooked to perfection andtasted spectacular. The owner came to our table several times to check-in and chat and to make sure everything was okay, whichwas a nice personal touch. She even brought us Ober some in-house spicy oil for our pizza crust ???????????? The inside of thisrestaurant isarger than it appears on the outside and the interior has a modern, classy feel despite being in a dingy plaza???? If it wasn't for the extremely long wait times for our food and drinks, Luna Ristorante would have received 5/5 stars.With that being said, I'm looking forward to returning and trying other items on the menu, with hopefully quicker service ????
