Mo's is a well known restaurant for clam chowder and other seafood. It has been years since I had been there and my husband... had never eaten there. We got a bowl of chowder and halibut and chips with the shrimp and cabbage salad to share which allowedenough room for us to share some marionberry cobbler. The food was all good however my husband said my chowder is better. ???? Ireally loved the salad so simple and delicious. It reminded me of being a child and having dinner at a family friends house. Stopped in for a late lunch today. I tried their salmon dinner $21.99 which came with a cup of chowder and a side (I chose rice... pilaf) and hubs had their chowder with shrimp in a sourdough bread bowl. We finished with their Marionberry cobbler. Thechowder was "just okay" (we have had better) and hubs first bite had sand/grit/shell in it, the salmon was dry and the salmonand rice portions were somewhat small. So I ordered The clam chowder and the macaroni and cheese with shrimp and crab. When the dish arrived the shrimp turned out to... be solid shrimp. So not much flavor there. I honestly think the macaroni and cheese was hamburger helper. I gave two stars as aclam chowder was decent it had large chunks of clams. We ordered steamer clams and the wine they used had very little flavor,and we agreed they needed to add garlic to the sauce. The bread they brought appears to be the inside of the bread bowel’s ofclam chowder. They brought a mo’s bucket for the shells. Place to eat lunch. I was driving down the Oregon coast and saw signs for Mo’s. I decided on the original location in Newport to see if it was up... to par. I was pretty impressed with the clam chowder to start and I got the fried seafood mix. I was amazed with the tater tots.The seasoning was exceptional and the best tots I’ve ever had. Had the local Rogue beer and topped off the meal with mixedberry cobbler which was good but not spectacular. Definitely a good experience overall. Read more

My parents told me about Mo's after they came here years ago. My husband is from farther south on the Oregon Coast but we wanted... to show our kids Newport. While here we visited Mo's and I had the fish tacos and my husband had the Seafood Cioppino, bothwere delicious in addition to their clam chowder. The tacos were full of fish and the clam chowder had plenty of clams and wassmooth. Service was great and the wait time we were quoted was spot in. Read more
Service was great, food was good. I was disappointed that the top of my chowder bread bowl was not toasted with garlic like... other places. We also had calamari (delish) and zucchini which was also yummy. This place gets packed so my suggestion is callto make reservations and they will keep you updated by text. Meanwhile walk around the area and visit the local shops! Read more
I will not give the establishment less stars for noisy kids or not being as fast as Vegas, because this place was packed, and... people got in and out in less than hour. Food was served less than 10 mins after your order is taken, and crying children arenot the establishment's fault. Food was amazing, too! Of course, I did expect amazing clam chowder since that was what they weresupposedly known for, however, clam chowder was just fine. The serving portion of the chowder was not for an entree but rather alight snack. Add the shrimps and it's great but still.. not worth how much they charge. What I really loved was the bakedoysters because they were HUGE and definitely worth it. Also, for drinks, northwest beer is a whole nother level, so that's halfluck of location and half good choice of beer on tap. Overall, satisfied with this stay and would come for seafood.
