Can't say enough about this place. The location is great, walking distance to so many shops, restaurants and bars, and the... downtown area. Far enough down Thames St that it's not too noisy outside. Rooms were clean and beautiful, they bring breakfastto your room in the morning and leave it outside the door for you. Such a relaxing way to wake up. Read more
I won’t be staying anywhere else in Newport, going forward. What an amazing experience! The staff is beyond helpful and... friendly. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and have everything you’d need for a good stay. The fresh breakfast deliveredto the door was so delicious and it was such a relaxed way to spend a morning. What a delightful stay we’ve had at the Bouchard Inn! It’s so quaint and homey! Once we checked in, the staff recognized us... the rest of the stay. The bed in the Rose room is SO comfortable! The natural light & views are lovely in this room! So manythings are within walking distance of the Bouchard Inn! And a short 8 minute walk gets you to where the free Trolly will pickyou up and take you to the Mansion Tours!! This Inn has thought of it all- they even have a sound machine in the rooms! The freeparking is also such a nice amenity! The breakfast that’s delivered outside of your room in the morning consisted of the mostdelicious yogurt parfait & pastry we’ve ever eaten!! We will most definitely stay here again when we return to Newport!! Read more
I had a fantastic meal here. We started dinner at 8pm and finished at 11:30 and since we were staying at the Inn just had to... walk upstairs. Max and Monica were wonderful. They let us know what everything was and kept the service moving through the 5courses with impeccable timing. They made us feel like we were having dinner with good friends. I just returned from a stay at the Bouchard Inn. This place was warm and lovely in so many ways. It was not over the top... expensive but our room was spacious, clean and updated. There was a gigantic (maybe oak?) king bed and a soft leather sofa alongwith lovely furniture that was not your typical bland hotel furniture. Check in was easy and quick and Carmen who showed us toour room was warm and friendly. It’s also located right on the main street and walkable to all the shops andattractions. Included in the room charge was a big selection of k-cup coffees & teas, (with an in-room Kuerig), orange juice inthe mini fridge, free water bottles for each day, and breakfast delivered to our door each morning… which consisted of freshlybaked warm apple turnovers and chocolate croissants WHICH WERE TO DIE FOR! Also delivered with that was a yogurt parfait withfresh fruit, but did I mention there were AMAZING WARM FRESH BAKED APPLE TURNOVERS AND CHOCOLATE CROISSANTS? There is ampleprivate on site parking in the rear and although we did not eat in the Bouchard restaurant, it looked like a cozy white tablecloth bistro right out of France. I literally waited for years to eat here. I was intimidated by the menu. But I guess things changed with the pandemic, and I... revisited it to celebrate my wife's and my birthdays. They had changed to a fixed price menu that I found much more accessible.The food was impeccably prepared. Here's a first: each of us completely cleared every plate of every course. Absolute delicious.I highly recommend it. It is the best French cooking I have ever had, outside of France. So, why the 3 star rating? The servicewas severely lacking. My wife wanted another glass of wine, and we could not flag down anyone to assist us...not even our ownwaiter. I am well past yelling to get a waiters attention; and I should not have to. So, we decided to share a glass ofchampagne to celebrate instead. Still no service. Our dessert was served, and I asked the waiter for some decaf and thechampagne. He mumbled something about sending someone over to take the champagne order. The coffee came, but still no champagne.So, that was that. We had a devine souffle...sans champagne. I will not be returning, as good as the food is, becausefrustration should not be part of the meal. The waiter should have automatically returned with the serving of dessert to checkif there were any further orders. Read more
We had a very special anniversary dinner at the Bouchard. Max, our captain, for the evening was outstanding. The courses were... delicious and properly spaced apart. We were not rushed at all. We were totally surprised when our dessert was presented withHappy Anniversary in French on the plate. Then Max gave us a flute of champagne to toast. I was busy taking pictures for thebeautiful desserts and flipped my flute on to myself and caught the glass. I was totally embarrassed. Max was gracious andreplaced my flute. We all laughed. We all had an outstanding experience, and it was relaxing. Highly recommend the Bouchardfor any event you may have. Read more
