We just stopped in for something quick because we had a wedding next door but the waitress was able to accommodate us. We... mentioned we need something that’s a bit faster and we ended up with a side of Mac and cheese and the Shrimp appetizer. Itcame out so quickly and was great. The first thing attracted me to the Gas Lamp was its complete simply explained menu. Af course with perfect variable tempting... food. I ordered Pesto chicken pizza from the special menu and my husband ordered fish and chips. My order was amazing. Thesecond great thing about here was our order was ready as a snap of a finger. I visited this place with my family, ordered food, couldn't eat anything, paid $100 and left. The burgers are fast-food style,... greasy patties, most certainly frozen processed meat with restaurant price tag. The lobster was "market price", $50, certainlywas not fresh. Couldn't chew it. Same for the steak. Most likely, this place is taken over by someone remote, marketing thelocation and the name, with frozen/processed food. Just look at the pictures. Service was great, food was good. The atmosphere was very pleasant. The calamari was good and also a good portion. Lobster rolls... were good but might ask for a side of extra butter, Cole slaw was pretty good. Pulled pork pizza was good. Lobster bisque wasn'tbad just didn't have a lot of flavor to it. Lastly Mac and cheese wasn't bad but nothing to cry home about. I gave it 5 starsbecause the service and everything was great. Would recommend going and would come back if I'm.back up in this area. We visit Newport several times per year and have been coming for about ten years and this is our favorite place for a drink and... a good meal. The atmosphere is casual and perhaps a bit rustic. There are sports on television and sometimes it is a bit loud.We have always enjoyed the food. Read more

This place is amazing! Whenever we come to Newport we come here. We got the BBQ Mac and Cheese and the cajun (not very hot at... all) Shrimp Mac and Cheese. As you can see in both they gave us plenty of meat. I had enough shrimp to do a scoop of 3 noodlesand a shrimp for every bite. Both dishes were perfected sauced and seasoned. An added plus was that they were not oily at all.On top of everything the service was amazing. Definitely check this place out. Read more
Great place for beer and WINGS!! I don't know what it is but the sauce they make is vinegar-y HEAVEN! We also had great pulled... pork pizza! Came here to watch a World Cup match and loved their wings so much we came back the next day!! Read more
