Came here on a Sunday night with a reservation but definitely wasn’t necessary. It was restaurant week so we did the prix fixe... menu - everything was super tasty! Very accommodating for gluten free, too. Server could have been a little more attentive butwhen she was around she was kind. Would definitely recommend stopping in at Jo’s! Read more

This restaurant is very classy but it just isn't quite as good as you want it to be. You know what it's like when you taste... something that is interesting and tasty, but not quite awesome, like it's just missing that one last flavor? That's ourexperience with the two items we had, the spicy shrimp and the fish and chips. We ate outside on a small patio which was nice, and the service was great. Read more

Jo's American Bistro was excellent from the service down to the quality of the food! The evening started at about 7pm when my... group walked up to the entrance and was greeted by the owner herself who had been working since 7am and stepped out for abreather!! That was amazing to begin with and she greeted us as if she had just began her shift. We were seated immediately andattended to swiftly. The server was great and very helpful with the suggestions for our group, and the food was amazing like shepromised. We started with a few apps, Steamers, Fried Calamari and a Clam Chowder which the group may have began to eat beforethe pictures (which is why some of the shells are already empty in the photo) and nonetheless it was all delicious. Onto theentrees, I picked the Fried Fish sandwich with a side of fries and coleslaw and a serving of Lobster Oscar on the side (whichwas amazing with almost a hollandaise-like sauce on top which I never had). Next was an order of the Salmon, and lastly theLobster Carbonara! Absolutely everything was delicious and they used high quality ingredients. We had zero complaints aboutanything we had pertaining to the food. To finish it off I got a delicious dessert that was wine and sorbet with fruit (sadlyforgot the name) and it was everything they said it would be! No regrets with this experience and wonderful people. Only smallnote I could give is that they alcohol was a little light in the drinks, besides this 10/10 experience!! Go visit them asapplease. An unplanned stop here. It was lunchtime on a Sunday when me and my friend went. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming.... Our waiter was great. The fries were really good. My Jo's Burger was cooked properly, and was juicy and the ingredients made itdelicious. We also had the chicken bites, which were crispy but juicy. The lemon sauce that came with it complimented thechicken very well. My friend enjoyed his grilled chicken sandwich & fries. The service was the standout for me, and the pickleson my burger. A must visit (just make a reservation ahead of time). Was blown away by my experience here! One of the best pork chops I’ve... ever had in my life. Awesome waitstaff, quick service, and a beautiful but intimate vibe. Next to Pasta Beach, this is myfavorite restaurant in Newport. Read more

Jo’s is a good dinner spot in busy area of Newport. Reservation is highly recommended. They have a relatively short menu,... with 5-6 options in each section. Dishes are made and presented very elegantly. We really liked the scallops and calamari. Thefried chicken a was little bit dry. For my entree, got the jo’s burger, the ingredients were nice but the bread was not mykind. It was those hard brioche bread, instead of the soft kind. Makes its really unpleasant to chew the burger. But my otherfamily members seemed to enjoy their entrees. We wrapped up the dinner with nice crumble. The service is excellent, and foodgets served in a decent time. Read more

It was a Saturday night my wife, son, and I were starving and we had failed to plan ahead and make reservations to any of the... restaurants in the area. Our hotel was near Bowens wharf and we had tried going to a few places there but they were all packedand the waits were insane. Having a small child we couldn't sit around and wait. I called Jo's and asked if they would be ableto accommodate us. They said yes, despite the fact they were closing in an hour. We walked over as quickly as possible and wereseated immediately. Tracy was amazing. She took such great care of us and the food was amazing. We had hummus platter as anappetizer that my son absolutely loved. My wife had the fish and chips with my son and I had steak. We couldn't have asked forbetter service. She also had a delicious moctail. Read more

Worth the walk from Thames Street. Get off the beaten path and check out Jo's. You won't be disappointed. It's an incredibly... clean, very well maintained with an upscale feel without the upscale prices (in relation to Newport). The service, drinks, andfood were all excellent. There were no complaints from anyone in the party. Read more
