Delicious meals, 2nd floor dining room was hot. Let's start out with the not so good. Went there for dinner when outdoor... temperatures were ~ 85 F. Our table was on the 2nd floor, no air conditioning. The dining room was hot, uncomfortablyso. Also, at the top of stairs on the 2nd floor, the landing area was converted into a dining area with a table for four. Right next to this table was a rest room. So the guests dining at this table were disturbed by other patrons using the restroom and by patrons/staff going up/down the stairs. OK, that said, I will definitely dine there again! The meals wherefantastic and the service outstanding. I had made reservations, showed up a few minutes prior and we were seated quickly. Ourwaiter was attentive and knew the menu. Dinner was served about 20 minutes after ordering and came out hot! I ordered thePenne Arrabbiata and the Tagliata di Manzo. They were unbelievably delicious. Highly recommend Mamma Luisa. While the food and service was excellent, the customer service needs to be improved upon. My wife and I went there for our... wedding anniversary last night and we told them it was for our anniversary at booking. No one gave us an acknowledgement of ouranniversary. My son and his wife called the restaurant many times while we were there to pay for our meal which would have beena very nice surprise but no one answered the phone! We already knew they dont answer the phone from previous experiences withthe restaurant. They really need to kick customer service up a notch or two if they want to be a five star restaurant. Terrible service. We eat out a lot and this was the worst experience ever. If you get the Asian lady do yourself a favor and... request another server. Rude with an attitude. Came across as almost hostile and uncaring. She brought the wrong bottle ofwine to the table and had to take it back. Things went downhill from there. Her unfriendly attitude was apparent at othertables as well. The food was mediocre at best. Dinners arrived at our table literally within a couple of minutes of placing ourorder. How is that even possible especially when this place calls itself homemade Italian food? A fast food restaurant can'teven get food to a customer that quickly! A bad experience and will definitely never go back. There are too many other choicesif you want authentic homemade Italian food. Read more
We had a bad experience with the food. We was starving and we order “veal” was all hard bad flavor we just eat it cause we... was so hungry, with nasty sauce. Very expansive , not even the appetizer was good , like 3 super tiny clams with tons of tomatosauce. Read more

This was a great experience in Newport. I couldn't believe the excellent service we received from our waiter. Place had old... school charm and felt like you were having Sunday dinner at your grandma's house. Food was on point, my steak was cooked toperfection, and the chicken was delicious. Dessert my fiancé and I split the tiramisu and it was one of the best we've everhad. When we come back here for vacation this will be the first spot I'd come back for dinner.
