New-ish newport local here, this is my neighborhood spot. This place takes the things that I normally wouldn't eat and makes... them into an incredible dish that I order repeatedly. Their Gobi (crispy cauliflower) is probably one of favorite dishes sincemoving to Newport in November '21. A few places in the area do this dish but this one has been the best I've had here. NormallyI'm anti pineapple on pizza but a friend ordered the bbq pineapple pizza, I tried it and they make this work really well. Theydo potato wedge style fries too that are really good and cooked to perfection. Their beer selection has a few local RI brewsand the classics. They have a good selection liquors to choose from if you're looking for a cocktail as well. The staff arefriendly and very attentive! Sometimes, when the place gets busy, they have to cover a bit of ground so just be patient ifthey're running around a bit. Visiting from NY and this was the only place where we could get a last minute reservation for 10. Menu was small but everything... we ordered was excellent! Highly recommend the cauliflower app and the burger. Service was fantastic too! This was a winner. Read more
I was so disappointed last night. And I really wanted to go to this restaurant. Okay for starters, I made reservations 2days... prior. But when we arrived a group before us, without a reservation was seated. Then when, he realizes we have a reservation, hescrambles to get a table. He sits us right in front of the door! It was cold last night and Everytime the door opened, we gotblasted with cold ???? my husband couldn't even take his jacket off. Now let's get to the food. So I specifically came for thesteak with chirimochi however you spell it. And that was disappointing! First of all I was expecting the real thing, not somecream sauce, the steak was tough and burnt. If it wasn't for that, it would be tasteless. The potato was flavorless. The lumpiawasn't too bad, but didn't like the sauce. The only thing that was good was the Cajun chicken and fries! The Parlor Bar & Kitchen located at 200 Broadway Newport RI. The restaurant and bar is always packed. They have live bands... performing and the vibe is always good. Great place for date night too. The food is also great. From Artisan cheese to TortillaSoup, Cajun salmon blt. The beer on keg is plentiful. Be sure to try our local beers. The Parlor is beautifully decorated theatmosphere and ambiance makes this a fun place. Be sure to try the bloody Mary. The owner and staff really seem to appreciateyour patronage. Read more
Good place to eat and have some nice cocktails. We ordered the Lumpia appetizers and the Ribeye. They were flavorful. Ironically... I will remember the place the most for their cocktails. Spicy Pineapple Margarita and the Spicy Mule Martini were phenomenal.The service was a bit slow that day, but I?m not gonna hold it against them since they only had two people working. Read more
