I am not sure what to say, I have very mixed feelings about my visit to Stoneacre Brasserie on Saturday night. What was good?... The food! The food was quite delicious: the miso kale caesar, the fried cauliflower, and the ribeye with cheesy smashed potatoeswere awesome. Also the wine list is actually quite strong with a number of values and also a small number of baller bottles ifyou want to splash out. What was bad? The service was miserable. I mean that both literally (all of the servers looked likethey wanted to kill themselves, and our particular waitress more or less directly stated that we should hurry up and figure outwhat we want to order because she was really busy) but also figuratively (they have decent wines but no decent glasses to drinkthem out of, only narrow, cheap, stemless wine glasses like the kind you have for an outdoor family bbq, also I think theyexactly one decanter in the restaurant and exactly one person who knows what a decanter is). In my book, poor service isinexcusable (so are stemless wine glasses but I recognized that might more of a personal thing) so I won’t return but maybeyou will have better luck than me? Read more

Pretty solid French restaurant in Newport. Portions were rather small but that was fine! Loved their drink menu and wish I... ordered something off it. Staff was very attentive. Read more

We have loved this restaurant for many years, but last night was a definite miss. The street corn was almost inedible (and $18)... and cauliflower appetizer was the smallest I have ever had there ($14). Wonderful salad and steak, so definitely worth the tripfor those. Hoping for a menu upgrade on the appetizers! Read more

Just WOW! Some of the best service Newport has seen, and I’m not even going to start with how good the dishes were. A little... bit on the expensive side, but the quality and the presentation were extraordinary. Read more

Had a very nice meal and would definitely go back. Portion sizes were great - not sure what the issue was from other reviews?... Could easily make a meal with 2 starters. First, had a tasty amouse bouche and bread brought to the table. Service was quick andfriendly. Great ambiance. Delicious food. Beet salad was excellent, as were the roast chicken ( with peas, fiddleheads, celeriacand fennel) and pork roulade. Great balance of flavours, nicely executed dishes. A very enjoyable evening out. Prices werereasonable. Nice wine list. Read more

Came here for some drinks but I wished I came here for dinner instead. This place was immaculate and a pleasant environment to... shelter from the cold. I loved the drinks I ordered, i got a old fashion and a passion fruit rum drink. The service was amazingand wonderfully all around. Would definitely come back here and definitely recommend to anyone around to come here. Read more

Went here for the first time the other day and I had a fantastic time. From the moment you walk in you get a luxurious rustic... feel. This place is very Newport. The service is fantastic and the food is just as good. I went for brunch and the menu wasfantastic. Not to mention the cappuccino martini this was a 10/10 they use their house made Bailey’s and it was so good.Definitely slightly pricey but remember where you are and what you’re paying for! Read more
