The dining experience at Nobu is all about the cachet, and while it is expensive, I do believe the overall visit is worth the... price. I think the quality of the food/cocktails were high, and the attention to detail in the presentation of the food and bythe waitstaff was remarkable. My only protest of the night was with the sushi and rolls. For the price and quality of the sushi,I would rather have a couple more hot dishes. Overall about $750 with gratuity for 3 people Read more

We were here to celebrate 3 birthdays and had a great time. I can't name any of the dishes in the pictures but everything was... fresh, tasty, and amazing. The service was excellent and the drinks were great. Read more

Personally I feel like it's massively overhyped, comparing the price to fish ratio is really name recognition driven. Good thing... Happy hour exists Sushi was delicious and enjoyed my time but wouldn't come back. It could be because I'm used to omakases thatare a little more personal and small, versus here where it felt like a factory line of sushi chefs frantically filling outorders. The cocktails were delicious though. Read more

Personally I feel like it's massively overhyped, I think the sushi is good but difficult to justify the price considering all... the delicious sushi in the area. I feel like the fee you pay is for the ambiance. Sushi was delicious and my partner enjoyedit a lot but I personally don't have the desire to go back. WOW! Every bite we were saying OMG. I come to Newport Beach every year for a girls week (just 2 of us) and have never tried... Nobu. To be honest I thought it certainly can't be worth all the hype. It far exceeded our expectations for food and service. Wewent to the Happy Hour and ordered almost everything on that menu and a few things on dinner menu. The yellowtail jalapeno, SeaBass tacos, Salmon dry miso, Salmon Avocado handroll, Crispy Rice cake, Oysters,Tiradito, and Bento box for desert. Some ofthese things we ordered 2 of they were so good. Ryan the manager checked on us and gave amazing recommendations and the staffwas the absolute best. We felt like we were the only ones in the restaurant they took such good care of us. Of course wine andSake were also on our list. I highly recommend trying NoBu if you are ever in their area. Read more

My husband and I went for a date on a Thursday evening in January. We were seated right off the water and had a lovely view (I... worried it would be too dark to see anything but it was all quite visible). We were seated between two heat lamps so thetemperature was pleasant. We had planned to go with one of the omakase options, but after our server Tina mentioned that shecould do a more customized table side service where we could set the price (we opted for ~$450 total) she gave us a morespecialized set of food items that we appreciated. The food was tasty overall with beautiful presentation. Our favorite was thetoro and truffle dish (super savory, but may not be worth the $100 price tag). The salmon with nashi pear was refreshing aswell. The assorted nigiri were all decent quality, with the smoky nodoguro as a personal favorite. That said, a couple ofdisappointments: The wagyu and dessert. The wagyu was not as tender or flavorful as anticipated — how do you mess up wagyu?Although the flaming presentation gets high marks for showmanship. For dessert we went with the chocolate cake with matcha icecream. Having had a similar dish at Roy’s multiple times, we found the flavor lacking and not sweet enough. Overall it was afun and beautiful occasion, made especially nice with the great view and personalized service. We would like to come again, butmaybe during lunch or happy hour to be more cost efficient. Read more

Nobu has super delicious food items, small plate family style. Unless your wallet is huge your stomach will still have some... room. Right on the water and a super modern interior, all included in the prices of your dishes. Great place for date night orcelebration if your bank account can handle it. Read more
