The food is very traditional and classic. No creativity, no surprises. It is overpriced and under seasoned. I took some frogs... legs and they really needed some salt. So go there if you absolutely need french dishes or if you want to impress your basicfriends with basic food. I was in Paris a month ago and i had stellar food for less than half what i paid here (i don't thinkParis is a lot cheaper than Newport...) Really bad value... It is very frustrating. I am perfectly fine with spending good moneyto eat as long as the result is worth it. They really have to rethink what they are offering. The restaurant by itself is verycute and full of the french cliches. Read more

1* because what I consider nontransparent in billing. The restaurant encourages customers to pay cash (suspect to avoid tax) and... would charge 3% fee if you pay with credit card. The problem is they don’t say it’s credit card fee but call it“economic” of 3% of total bill. And then they calculate the tax based on the total of bill PLUS this 3%, so you are taxes at103% of what you consumed. When we called it out, our server didn’t bother to explain, he just said that how it is here. I’mwriting this not because of 3% credit card fee but because i believe any business should be honest and transparent withcustomers. Read more

Mediocre, expensive food. Waiter was stone-cold, though only ours seemed to be. Bouillon Moulin has them beat in every aspect.... No wonder why it's so much easier to get a table here Read more

Morgan our host and server made our dining experience a real treat. One of the best French dinners we experienced in the U.S. ... Lovely atmosphere. The duck was cooked to perfection and the French onion soup was amazing. Cheese plate is a must with theirpremium French wine. Can not say enough about their desserts- delicious. We will definitely return to this classy five starrestaurant. Thank you. Read more

Marvelous family run restaurant. Attentive and friendly service, bustling atmosphere. Steak frites was cooked just right.... Escargot and french onion soup can use a bit more character though. Can't wait to try their spring lamb menu! Read more

I’ve never had French cuisine before so I don’t really have something to compare it too but my taste buds enjoyed every bite... of my dinner. We started off with some complimentary bread and dip. Bread was kind of flaky and messy. Then we went with a lightsalad that had nice bites of gorgonzola. We went with a simple red wine but I do wish I would have gone for a Cabernet. Fordinner the waitress recommended the specials and they sounded perfect so we didn’t even look at the menus. My favorite part ofour dining experience here was when the server came out with a plate of just mashed potatoes but then a little pot and beganvery gently and slowly pouring the beef stew into the plate, such a unique experience that I’ve never had anywhere in Newport.Everyone was so lovely and nice and all staff checked on us. The vibe inside was so mellow for being so close to a major street. If you want impress someone definitely wine and dine them here. :) Read more

Very good food. Very friendly people. The wine and food selections have reduced due to the pandemic. It is open for outdoor... dining with 6 tables mostly for group of 2. It is on the busy Newport blvd but it was not bad at around 7:30 pm on a Saturdaynight. We will definitely go back. Read more
