After one and one half hours of waiting for a table outside because we have our small puppy with us the hostess comes to tell... us that they don’t allow dogs. This is the first time we have encountered a situation like this . Every single restaurant withoutdoor seating allows doges especially a small trained puppy. Hands Down our favorite restaurant. Everything we have tried is delicious. This is the only place that I ever eat a hamburger.... The quality of the beef is excellent. It’s perfectly cooked and there’s a perfect mix of lettuce, onions ( grilled onionstoo) tomato and dressing. The hickory sauce takes it over the top. Definitely order the fries ! They are crispy and slicedthinly so you don’t feel so guilty eating them. The seasoning adds a nice touch. We ordered the carrot cake as a treat and itwas the best ever. Creamy icing and the cake was great. As a side dish the deviled eggs (3) were delicious - perfect mix ofseasoning and great presentation We sat on the bar and loved it. Tiffany was our waitress and she was so cordial andknowledgeable with a big smile. It’s always busy because of the great experience and food. Try to come at off times and thewait won’t be so long. This feels like a scene for the idle rich and finance set of Newport. The service is good and knows the regulars which is nice... to see. It’s a white tablecloth experience with sort of a dress code (mainly no hats in the dining room) which is also fine.But for all this, the wine list is really uninspired as was the food. With this clientele I would expect a more global andcurated wines by the glass. It was all fine. Read more

R+D kitchen is a real upscale restaurant located in the Fashion Island center of Newport Beach. Get there early because it is... very popular and gets full. We were at the bar and had some very delicious cocktails. Good looking crowd and friendly staff. Thebartender was very nice and she is proficient at her craft cocktails. It was a fun time for all. R&D kitchen is the perfect place to stop after your visit to Nieman Marcus. I love to sit at the bar and have a glass of... Chardonnay with whatever delicious thing I decide to order. I don’t think I’ve ever had anything I did not like there. ButI’m pretty much obsessed with the tuna tartare????????. PS treat your self to some carrot cake to go and if you’re adelicate little flower such as myself LOL you can have some for today and some for tomorrow. It really is my favorite carrotcake though I think I used to like Flemings carrot cake but now I only like are in the kitchen Read more
