Nothing less than Perfection, here! Tender melt in your mouth Wagui beef. Tops in garlic roasted green beans. Smooth salmon and... amber jack sushi. Even the water was good. I went with a group of 3 for lunch on Friday. We sat indoors and ordered miso soup (spicy, original), two deluxe sushi plates... (one pictured below), and Brussels sprouts chips. The total came out to be around $150, which I thought was reasonable given thefood quality and location (Fashion Island). The service was excellent — the server was attentive and friendly without beingoverbearing, and she had some great recommendations for appetizers (which is how we ended up deciding on the Brussels sprouts).Overall, it may not be the most authentic, but we really enjoyed it nonetheless: the fish was fresh, and the sushi wasn’tdrenched in sauce like most American places. I made reservations for my girl’s 33rd birthday at 6pm through their website. We got there at 5:57pm and we didn’t get taken... to our table till 6:20pm. We saw plenty of people come up and get taken to their table right away. We were the only ones waitingaround for a table for two. We felt singled out and we almost left. After waiting around for 20 mins they gave us a tableoutside in the corner away from everything. I was hoping to catch some of the game they had on, on all the TVs. After we put inour drink order with our waitress other waitress came to our table asking if we need anything to drink. I was like we justplaced our order with our waitress, are you are waitress now? I was confused there for a bit My girl ordered a bunch of sashimiand it was very good and fresh. She loved everything. I ordered the Prime ribeye and it was undercooked, very hard to cut andvery chewy. I was very disappointed with the quality of the steak. It didn’t taste or feel like it was prime, more likechoice. Guess that’s what you get from a sushi restaurant, my mistake. I put on the reservations that there was a specialoccasion for a birthday and there was zero mention of it by the staff. Our bill came out being around 400 for the two of us andwe felt we could have gotten more from another high end sushi restaurant in the area. Great sushi restaurant overall. High quality food and fresh ingredients, beautiful ambience, and excellent service. We enjoyed... everything from beginning to end. Their miso soup is incredible, as is the iced matcha green tea. We loved the sushi plate, andadded on salmon sushi, unagi sushi, and uni. It was all delicious. Since our sushi took a while, our server was really kind andgave us complimentary mochi (we didn’t even complain about the wait, but she went above and beyond to add a special touch). The decorations of it are beautiful but if you look into the details, you will see the dirt all around like chairs, tables, the... trees and even on the towels which you have to use as a napkin. I definitely don't want to give it a 2nd chance to be back!Disappointed! Sushi is not fresh but their skewers are delicious! Read more
