Excellent food, extremely friendly owner. You can pick anything at random off the menu here and not go wrong. I did that, and... I was not disappointed. If you are unfamiliar with this type of cuisine, you can also ask the owner who will help guide you toan excellent choice. I very much enjoyed that when the food was brought out, he informed us of where in the world/region ourdish originated from, and the intricacies involved in preparing it. This enabled me to appreciate it that much more. Afterdinner, I was able to talk to the owner some about our global travels and discovered our eyes have seen many of the samelandscapes few people get to see in some very remote parts of the world. I encourage you to take the path less travelled inglobal cuisine and come here. Read more

Stopped in with some friends based on a recommendation from one of them. We were the only guests upon arrival and we seated... ourselves but another party arrived halfway through our stop. Looking over the menu the owner explained what each dish is andwhat region it comes from. A very nice, useful, and unexpected experience. After looking over the menu we decided to order acold appetizer sampler. Once the appetizer arrived it had several different options including pita, babaganoush, hummus,Spanish eggplant, potato salad, matvucha, and a fifth option I, unfortunately, forget the name of. Each option was very good andcould be a meal by itself. After placing our main course order the food came out quickly. I ordered the special which was lambshank served with carrot and raisin rice. The lamb shank was very tender but a bit bland. The rice was cooked perfectly and wasvery good. I ordered a slice of lemon cake to go and it was delicious. Overall my first experience here was completelypositive. I found the prices to be a bit high but won't stop me from going back. Highly recommend! Read more

This place is a hidden gem!! I was a little hesitant at first because of how the outside looked but once I got inside I felt a... little under dressed in my casual clothes. The gentleman who took the order was very informative about the dishes on the menuand the cultures that inspired the dishes, and gave great recommendations. I originally was going to order the beef kebab;however, based on his recommendations, I got the lamb instead. It was my first time having lamb but it will not be my last aftertoday. I'm pretty sure the gentleman who took my order, served the food and maybe cooked it was the owner. I am not 100 percentsure on that. If you're looking for food I highly recommend this place. I just moved here and told my boyfriend this needs to beone of the regular spots we go to for date night. Read more

What a great place! The outside doesn't look impressive but the inside is beautiful and feels very comfortable. We got to chat a... lot with the owner Daud (or David) who was very helpful explaining about the food and the spices. We started with the hummuswhich was some of the best I've had out of the middle east. For lunch I had the lamb kabob and my wife had the beef kabobs, andthen finished off with some dessert that was essentially two large cookies and some Persian tea. Everything was amazing andwe'll definitely return! Read more

Omg! I didn't know this place existed until Monday. Warwick Blvd in Newport News near a shopping center. I got the Lamb kabob... dinner, which was $21 and it had enough to feed two people. Loved the salad, different rices and the kabobs were tender andtasty. I did a side order of baked eggplant $7.50 and it was so good I'm going back today. Read more

Never judge a book by its cover!! This is a very small hole in the wall restaurant, but the food is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! The... owner is very nice and he will explain what each item on the menu is and how it?s prepared. Whenever I want a taste of theMediterranean or the Middle East, I always go to this place. The food is decadent!! Read more

Amazing food! Phenomenal service! It was quite the experience trying food from so many Mediterranean countries at once. We had... the cold appetizer sampler. It was so good and so much variety. We also had the chicken cabob and eggplant stew. Both werephenomenal. The Persian tea was delicious! I cannot wait to go back. Read more
