I ended up here in a whim with my sister because we were meeting in Newton Center for dinner…and I’m soooooooo glad we... landed at Farmstead! Our server Sarah was a doll. The menu was so exciting that we decided to share 3 appetizers and an entree(full happy tummies!). The space was small and cozy. The food was absolutely amazing. I almost ordered a second mushroom toast!I HIGHLY recommend the Brussels sprouts tacos. In my sisters words “I can’t believe these don’t have meat!” Soooooogood!! They didn’t skimp on the cod either. Place was COMPLETELY empty and the guy had the nerve to say the were totally booked… for the WHOLE NIGHT!!!! Just tell me you... won’t serve me because my family is BLACK! Fantastic appetizers. We loved the portobello mushroom tacos, the salmon and sesame dish, and the melon salad! Not a big fan... of the banana desert, and the fact that that ways the only desert on the menu. Read more

We visited Farmstead Table on a Sunday evening, and, overall, it was a nice experience. The food was delicious, and it was a... nice, modern space. However, service was quite slow, and went for long stretches without checking in, despite having emptyglasses and clean plates. The menu is a bit limited, and they were out of one of the main dinner dishes. The popovers weredelicious, as was the burrata and the steak. Fabulous spot!! Great service, glorious food. Highly recommend the roasted brussel sprouts tossed in a chili glaze, the... mushroom toast with whipped feta (divine!), the hand-cut french fries and the s’mores dessert with ganache and homemademarshmallow. If you want a restaurant that knows how to treat vegetables well, come here. As first glance, there is not a lot on the menu for... us vegans, but the kitchen is accommodating and the staff helpful in discerning which dishes can be easily veganized. The tacosare always amazing. The soup, when vegan, steals the show. The salads are creative and fresh. The bread is not vegan (containshoney). Drinks are usually good. And often there is a dessert or part of a dessert if you want a sweet treat... the guava sorbetis amazing. We prefer to sit at the communal dining table outside in the back... the atmosphere is lovely and relaxed. Whenthey put the lights on, nestled among the strands of grape vines, it's beautiful. There is also some casual bar seating, and ofcourse plenty of tables in the dining room area. Some evenings can be crowded, but we usually don't have a problem without areservation. Read more
