Moved away from NJ more than a year ago, but had been living in Andover Twp for about 4 years prior to that and grew up in... central NJ. I can't say I miss much (besides friends & family) about this state, but boy do I miss this brewery. The selectionand quality of beer is unparalleled. The location also has an incredibly welcoming environment I haven't found anywhere else, thanks to Heide, Erik, and their staff (shoutout to Caitlin for always welcoming me by name). I've been to more than 20breweries since I now live in the "craft beer capital of the world" Portland, OR. But let me tell you, more breweries per squaremile does not get you better beer. I've yet to visit a brewery with the breadth and depth of brew knowledge that is exhibited atAngry Erik. Between Heide and Aaron, I've enjoyed pretty much every style of beer I've tried here, and they rotate theirselection pretty often. I'm sad that I can no longer claim to have tried pretty much everything on tap, since they're alwayscrafting new recipes. From their easy drinking lemongrass ale to sultry pumpkin stouts to juicy IPAs, they've got it all andthey taste excellent to boot. When I first moved to Sussex county, I thought I'd just pop in the local brewery after work andsee what it was like. To be greeted with a warm smile and some cool N.W.A. playing in the back was a pleasant surprise. It wasreal ...cozy... in the old location, but they already impressed me with the vibes and the beer. Their new location, althoughwaylaid a bit by Covid, is awesome. Viking longship bar, plentiful outdoor seating, live music venue on certain occasions. Also,I hadn't been to a single business that as dynamically and stringently followed best practices to limit the spread of Covidduring the height of the pandemic. We were able to schedule beer pickups during off-hours, they cleaned all surfaces of anythingreused (i.e. growlers), and were extremely accommodating to our level of risk. I felt more comfortable going to p Read more

Bottom line: cozy hometown brewery with fair variety of beers (not just 10 hazy IPAs). Gluten line: not even a cider guys? :(... come on. Maybe some clarity fern/equivalent to make some gluten reduced at least? Long line: the location is tucked away a bitin what I'm guessing qualifies as an industrial area likely per NJ laws. The space is split into two parts, first a small bararea and then the brewery in the back with benches and some board games. Had a sampler which was fairly priced and hung out inthe back. The tour is short and sweet as they should be. I enjoyed all of the beers in my sampler (see pictures). Overall verywelcoming and friendly staff. Only wished I lived closer. Will return if in the area. Read more
