Came here to celebrate my husband's birthday! This is a MUST GO to place! The service was impeccable from the phone call for... reservations all through out dinner. The food was absolutely delicious,and I cannot wait to go back! The place was packed theentire time we were there! This is exactly how a resturant should be run through and through! Exceptional service always guaranteed at bar wood in Newtown. It was a busy Saturday night, we waited only 5min for a sparkly... clean table. On our walk to our table I noticed that one of the two candles on top of the fireplace mantel had burned out andwas no longer lit. I am a lifetime victim of severe OCD and I could not enjoy a nice meal knowing that there was a candle inneed of love… every other candle was lit but this one. Once we were seated I explained the situation to our server. Our servercollected our drink order, then walked over to the fireplace and lit the candle. I was holding back tears. I have had similarissues with other restaurants who have completely ignored my concerns with equality. If one cable is lit then all candles shouldbe lit. Artfully crafted meals that are delicious. The staff is super and made recommendations to customize both my meal and my craft... cocktail so that each was exactly to my liking. Visited here with a party of six on a Saturday afternoon. We had a time problem and the manager promised to get us served and... out quickly. And she did. Our waiter, Adrian, was spectacular. A young man, but clearly very skilled in serving and customerservice. He is the shining star in this story. My daughter ordered a meal (butternut squash ravioli) but was not happy with it.The ravioli was probably good, but the taster was picky . He returned it for a different dish and charged her nothing. Our othermeals were satisfactory. The lobster ravioli was quite good. The burgers were fine but not exceptional. For $17 I expected alittle more. The brisket flatbread appetizer special was good, but a little light on brisket. Pleasant and comfortable. Overall, a little pricey. Read more
