Expensive is worth it. Would you rather pay $5.00 for something average or $9.00 for the above average. At McCaffrey's you'll... either have to think about that question or not worry about the register amount. The store is merchandised well. The fruits andveggies have a great assortment and are usually really fresh. There are bakery, butcher, breads, seafood and cold cut counters.The store also has a good assortment of both hot and take home ready to eat meals. I find when I am looking for better choicesof veggies, proteins, and fruit that McCaffrey's stands out. On staple products their prices might be a bit high for somethingyou can get elsewhere. Top line - if you care about where your food comes from, shop elsewhere. These guys have yet to absorb that today?s customers... care about sourcing. Produce is sometimes decent, sometimes awful. Seafood of dubious quality and unknown origin. Individuallyshrink-wrapped potatoes are on offer. Their PA staff are openly hostile to the idea of phasing out plastic bags. No effort ismade to green up their operation, make their sourcing transparent or sustainable, or do anything more than put up signs in theparking lot that say ?you?re welcome, earth? when reminding you to bring your own bag. This place will get dragged kicking andscreaming into the 21st century or will be wiped out as more forward-thinking stores eat their lunch. Read more
This place is fine to shop at as long as you don't mind paying top dollar for every day products that cost significantly less at... any other grocery store. It's insane what they charge for some of the products in this place! I will say that the salad bar isfresh and beautiful and expensive but delicious. I go there for a treat but would never actually shop there! Read more
Loved this store, wa upset that moved away from Wholefoods, but here you can find anything that can get from Wholefoods. High... quality food with fair enough price. My wife and I had issues finding fresh organic fruits and vegetables, coffee creamer, etc at other local grocery stores. We... decided to give McCaffreys a try and have been extremely pleased. I am very impressed with Mccaffreys bakery!! I gave up on whole foods market, as their quality went way down!!! The bakery... here is soooo good!!! The cupcakes ???? with buttercream frosting are ???? yummy!! They absolutely stuff their strawberryshort ???? cake with ???? ???? ???? strawberries!!! You must try this wonderful ???? bakery!! Thanksgiving Turkey Meal - Thought I was getting a cooked Turkey to save me time on Thanksgiving Day. In the fine print read... the heating instructions. You still have to cook it for 2.5 hours, baste it every 15 Minutes. I thought I was going to carveit and heat the meat....Nope it was allot of work. I paid $129.95 for a Turkey that feeds 14 to 16 and stuffing. The stuffingwas so spicy we didn't eat it and ate the homemade one my sister made.
