Had an amazing time with my friends for lunch at Oishi, Newtown. I loved their Vegetarian Sushi with Cucumber and Avocado ; the... salad with their amazing ginger dressing & Pad Thai (vegetarian option). My friends loved the chicken Sate and a chicken hotplate dish. (Forgot the name). The waitress was really friendly and explained things very clearly too. Read more

I really feel bad leaving this review because the owners are super nice people but what in the world happened to this place?... This use to be the staple for great Sushi in the area. Our sushi was some of the worst I have ever had. They turned half therestaurant into a take out section during Covid. Which is understandable during the tough times you have to do what you have todo but it’s still the same. The restaurant is so unorganized and so chaotic now. It almost feels like they are just trying tomass produce food to keep up with their new take out operation. This use to be the spot. We Would love having a nice night outand you could always count on Oishi to produce a great meal and a great atmosphere…. Now you are better off hitting your localChinese buffet. You will get the same quality of food for fraction of the price and honestly the same atmosphere. It’s a verysad day but I will not be returning. A local gem no more. Read more

I always love this restaurant and food always great! My husband and I went yesterday and were really disappointed. I tried to... make a reservation around 5 (thinking Tuesday in summer wouldn’t be crowded) …the phone just rang and went to VM. Ok so wedrive the 40 minutes and are told one hour wait … no big deal at all, we went to local place and had a glass of wine to killtime. We go back at 7:30 as directed and the waitress was soooo sooo sooo rude and short tempered and rushing us it was grosslyuncomfortable. App’s amazing as usual, ordered the same platters as always including upgrade to rib eye steak…. It was a bigslice of fat!!! My husband only got steak all fat and I did steak and chicken Combo … could only eat the chicken, steak wasall fat! So usual for this restaurant!! Our take away…no one answering phone for a res, super rude staff, and fatty meatallures me to stop at one of the other 3 Japanese restaurants we pass going to Oshi. May be our last time there! Have been coming to Oishi for years - the sushi and entire menu has been consistently very good. But the service recently has... been horrible. I know its hard to find good help these days but our service was slow, inattentive and rude. We love the food butwe won't be going back to this location. Will try the Doylestown location. Read more

My friend and I were looking for a new place to eat a while back in Newtown and were completely sold at the thought of... sushi! So at the recommendation of the Pro Shop Newtown, we headed on over to Oishi for a bento box and some sushirolls! Oishi is a Korean/Japanese/Thai restaurant located in the Village at Newtown off of Eagle Road. The service and foodwere both excellent and we already have addition menu items in mind that we want to try in the future! Read more

The food was very good. The Tuna Tataki and Tuna Sashimi rolls were excellent. The rolls had a nice amount of caviar. Chicken... Satay was very tender and the peanut dipping sauce was so good. Chicken Yakatori was also tender. Chicken Bulgoki was fantasticand the portion size was huge. However, while the Oishi Teriyaki Shrimp and Scallops were delicious, the portion size was a bitsmall. Overall we were satisfied with the food and service. Their new location is nicely decorated but the front area is stagedfor takeout orders and it really detracts from the vibe. The servers are dressed appropriately but the rest of the staffincluding the ones that seat you are dressed sloppily... old jeans and tshirts. I shouldn't be surprised because most of thepatrons were dressed worse. Dirty jeans, old running shorts, sweat shirts, ripped tshirts, etc. Considering the prices, locationand decor, they should enforce a better dress code. I don't think we'll go back. Read more

It was my favorite sushi place a year ago. Was desopointed by my last takeout - rolls quality ... could be better. The order... was placed in Japanise restaurant not Chinese buffet. Read more

The sushi was very good and the presentation was nice. The place is clean and in a nice location. No saki or alcohol at all,... just BYOB, which I find weird coming from Florida. Service was very slow. They did warn about that with a sign on the door, butthe issue wasn't with getting the food, it was taking out order and waiting for the check. Read more
