Great new family run Indian restaurant. We were looking for chai after a tiring hike and a \"small\" meal. I ordered a paneer... sandwich and my wife ordered papdi chat. The chat was excellent. The sandwich could have been spicier but was still quite good.And of course, the chai hit the spot! Rubin looked after us and he was a pleasure. Highly recommended. Read more
We stumbled across Aura and so happy we did. The food is exquisite. It’s not your typical spicy Indian food. The owner puts... his heart into creating classic Indian cuisine, but his way. Super flavourful, good sized portions. For being open for 10 weeks,this husband and wife team made our experience lovely. And how amazing is it to have an amazing Indian restaurant in NOTL?! We went to Aura on the Lake for lunch and sat on their beautiful patio. The restaurant has an incredibly peaceful ambiance that... supports local alcohol companies and good quality ingredients some of which are from local farmers. The service was absolutelyfantastic and we got a chance to chat with the owner about his vision for the restaurant. We asked him to make suggestions onthe food and the food was incredible. There are a lot of Indian restaurants in the Niagara region however this one is the best.The sweet lassi was really tasty flavoured with roses.\n\nReading other reviews about price complaints, I would like to say thatthe prices of this restaurant are on par with others in the area. This restaurant is located in the heart of Niagara on the Lakeand serves quality food. The focus is on the experience and if you’re by yourself, you’re able to bring a book, relax andreally enjoy the ambiance with some good food.\n\nWe will definitely return for dinner as a family. What a great experience. Lots of positive things about our dinner. The staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The... restaurant and bathrooms were clean. The outdoor patio was perfect for people watching and enjoying the evening. The food wasvery tasty, with the right amount of spice and good selection for vegetarians. Been here for a lunch with friends. Worth a try at this restaurant with mixed feelings.\n\nAmbience is very good and like to... give 5 stars for that.\nMenu is limited.\nStarters were very good. Very well presented and it was tasty too.\nMain course wouldhave been better. After tasting the delicious starter, our expectations were high on the main course. Curries were not that richin flavors. We expected little more spicier as it mentioned spicy in the menu but it was not.\nDessert, brownie sizzler is thebest one to compete your lunch. Taste was at its best and everyone liked it to the most.\n\nMust try paapri chat, browniesizzler\n\nService is excellent and the chef visited the table to check if we are satisfied with the lunch or can they work onany improvements. We have been meaning to try this restaurant since it opened last summer, and finally made it today!\nThe dishes are freshly... prepared to order and are not your typical restaurant Indian cuisine. Everything was authentic, and tweaked by the owner/chefto improve the flavour for his North American clientele\'s palate. The freshness and depth of flavour from the spices wereoutstanding.\nWe shared a starter and then ordered two mains, which we also shared. There was ample food to satisfy ourlunchtime appetites with sufficient leftovers for dinner tonight.\nThe food prices are on the high side, but mostly warrantedgiven the preparation involved. We also had a couple of glasses of local wine, which were also priced on the high side (even byNOTL standards).\nIt was nice to be able to talk to the owner and hear about his future plans for the restaurant.
