Pretty good Italian restaurant just outside of downtown Niantic. Menu has classic Italian favorites as well as a plethora of... seafood options. Garlic knots are complimentary. Do yourself a favor and try some honey ricotta with bread. Chicken piccata andparmigiana are excellent entree options as well. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, but the quarters can be a bit tight.Additional parking is available at the Niantic Center School across the street. Read more
The food is excellent but the service is hit or miss. Was not impressed with the slow and lackadaisical attitude on my last... visit. Waited way too long for a simple order. Was not apologized too or offered any compensation for the almost hour I waitedbetween ordering and getting my food which was just a plain cheese pizza. When I first arrived they said it would be out in 2minutes but we sat there for over 25. Guessing they forgot to cook my order after I called it in which I would have beenunderstanding about if they had told me that when I arrived. My friend had heard about this place from a mutual friend of ours and invited me to go with her tonight. I loved it! Drink was... delicious- not too strong, the food was delicious as well! Not too big of a portion but enough for people like me who loveleftovers the next day. Our waitress was friendly, attentive enough to be efficient. Wonderful restaurant. Great Italian menu with a BIG surprise - cauliflower pizza. It was wonderful, as was our salad. We ate on... the outdoor patio, which was lovely. They seemed short staffed and the service was a little slow, but that can be said regardingnearly every restaurant these days. Highly recommended!!! Read more
We were just passing by and took a chance for lunch. The Food and service were incredible. The Server was super friendly, very... efficent, and just an all around fun person. The food was freshly made, was served hot and had great flavors. Pizza was topnotch loved the crust. Drinks were also very good. Owners Stanley and Nicholas along with the rest of the Castello staff are absolutely wonderful! They worked with us to create a... fixed menu for our wedding rehearsal dinner complete with appetizer, salad, choice of 3 entrees, dessert and open bar. They alsoallowed us to set up a table with a tv to show a slideshow. Our guests were so impressed by the food and the atmosphere. In themidst of COVID-19, finding a venue to hold a group of people, especially outdoors in Niantic, was becoming difficult. When werealized we could host our event under their tented patio, we were so relieved! We are so thankful for such a great night! Foodwas delicious. Read more
I'll start by saying the food was fantastic. Garlic knots were great, stuffed shrimp was awesome, and all other chicken dishes... were good! However, our waitress who seemed to have a desire to connect with us by using inappropriate humor was off putting.Our party of 5 all ordered waters and a few sodas. she was disappointed we did not order any alcohol, and made that quite clearby remarking "well you guys are boring". My parents are 4 months sober and I really did not appreciate that comment... we havesenses of humor and laughed it off in the moment, but that's just not something you say as a waitress.
