I absolutely enjoy coming here to eat, usually I sit alone with a book and always find it peaceful. The waitstaff is incredibly... friendly and kind, always providing the best service. Aaron the waiter is always in great spirits and gives greatrecommendations on local spots for hiking and exploring the area. Amber is also an incredibly kind and friendly person, usuallyfound behind the bar serving the best drinks. All around great place to stop for a bite to eat or listen to live music, thestaff here makes it feel like coming home after a long day. Read more

A perfect "lost in time" venue, tucked away in rural Marin. You can hear great live music from local, regional and national... performers, eat some legit BBQ, and chill in the open air. Friendly people all around you, and definitely good people watchingif that's your thing. Get there early to grab a good seat, or bring your low back chairs. Convivial. This ranch restaurant is a charmer. Also, a music venue. It sits in a natural bowl of rolling hills which act as acoustic... embellishment to the bands (best calibre imaginable for the ticket value and proximity to the Greater Bay Area). Large rusticdining area, smaller garden room dining area, spacious porches for dining and to get your dance on, tree and lawn area withpicnic tables for al fresco dining and mingling in a captivating natural setting. I've enjoyed visiting Rancho Nicasio for over twenty years. The drive is easily worth it for the live music. This time I... returned for their summertime series, BBQ on the lawn. Along with great music there is BBQ and a full bar outside. You can alsoget food and drinks inside. Highly recommended! Read more

We were out for a Sunday drive when we came upon Rancho Nicasio R&B. It is situated out in the middle of what appears to be... nowhere. Actually, it is about the center of Marin county. There was an musical event going on outside, but we didn't havetickets. So, we decided to check out the bar. Looking at the animals on the wall, I thought this place must been around for 100years, however, the original hotel burned in the 40s, so the bar is newer than I thought. We decided to try their Tomales BayOysters, and Calamari Fritti - - they were both yummy! We also had a drink from the bar. The bartender was friendly and gave usgood service! And I had a fun time running around the bar taking pictures! If you're vegetarian, all the animals on the wallmight freak you out. The bartender said that there used to be six times as many animals on the wall. It looked like people arehaving a great time at the event in the back of the property. You can check online to see what else is available is season. Thetickets seemed pretty reasonable, too. If you live in the bay area, it is not that far of a drive.
