First time visitor. The steak teriyaki was overly sweet and overcooked. The rice was sweet and mediocre. The cabbage is... literally raw cabbage cut up with nothing on it. It was TERRIBLE. My husband loved his pork. And the cookie was good. We dinedin but was served in a Styrofoam container and everything slopped together. Dined in and ate the Regular plate, pick two combo with kalua pig, teriyaki steak, white rice and macaroni salad. Staff was... nice but I was not happy with the food. The rice, kalua pig and macaroni salad was drenched in teriyaki sauce from the steak.The rice is what caught my eye at first because I thought it was brown rice but, it was soaked with sauce. Everything tastedlike teriyaki sauce. They should have a plate that separates each dish. This is my opinion but, I am from Hawaii and don't knowanyone who eats their kalua pork with teriyaki sauce. Maybe Pounders is catering to their environment but, put the sauce on theside. I talked to one of the staff members and he agreed that the sauce was overwhelming. I always give a place two attempts. I got the Pounders meal with the intent of saving half for lunch tomorrow and it was a great idea, more than enough for two... meals. The food 100% blew me away, both the garlic and teriyaki chicken were super tender and flavorful and that teriyaki had anamazing char on it while not being overcooked. The pig was also very tasty and SUPER tender, all three meats were greatportions. The sticky rice was great and had some sweetness to it with a little tang from the sauce. Definitely coming back! Wow!!! Absolutely delicious, and a super great price. My wife, daughter and I LOVED this place. The ambiance is inviting, and... the staff friendly. My pic is of the Kalua Pig, Teriyaki Steak, and side of greens. Fantastic! The white rice that comes withthe plates have a sweet flavor to them?so addicting! Just straight good. Simple menu executed well, with good vibes all around. You can't go wrong no matter what you order. All of... the meats are great as are the sides. We came here while visiting Destin and wanted some Maui garlic chicken however this place doesn?t serve that type of garlic... chicken but we still wanted to try the place. Glad we did. You order at the counter, get your own drinks and wait for yournumber to be called. Wife had the teriyaki chicken combo which comes with rice and one side (we was told to get try the macaronisalad) that macaroni salad was bombalious lol. I had the garlic chicken with rice and macaroni salad?bombalious, definitely trythe macaroni salad lol. The meats was tender and flavorful and rice was good.
