My son had a football game at Alan Hancock college so after driving 3 hours we knew we needed to grab some grub. Found this... place randomly on Yelp! It was just a few minutes north of the college. I called on my order so we could grab it and go and eatat the stadium. Since I was on my phone I kind of messed up my order when I called it in. I ordered a bbq brisket burrito and abrisket torta sandwich. The menu listed tri tip but I guess they let me substitute the meats. I?m kinda glad I did because itwas pretty amazing. I figured my hubby and I would share. I ran in an picked up the food and could not wait to try it. Ientered into the bar area. It was really big and looked like they had quite a few options of beer. Nice size patio outside too.Pick up was just a smaller room off the bar area. You order and pick up on that side. Very friendly staff. Got to the field andopened up the Torta first. It looked amazing. One bite and I didn?t want to share. The bread was toasted to perfection. Eachbite had a nice little crunch to it. The meat was tender and juicy. Just enough shaved lettuce and tomato. It was delicious andI wanted to get another one for dinner! The burrito was big and fat. I chose refried beans in it. It was good but it neededsome bbq sauce and since we grabbed it to go, we were outta luck. The meal was so good we didn?t eat again for another 7hours. I will definitely stop here again on the way up to Paso Robles or Los Olivos. It?s worth it! Read more

Ok Rancho Nipomo. What a bust. I have heard good things about this place. First time going. Very disappointed. Do they even bbq... here? When you go to a burger place it smells like burgers, go to chick fil a it's smell of chicken so on and so forth. It didnot smell like bbq here. I'm a foodie. I got the central coast sampler, 1/4 chicken, tri tip, beans, rice and tortillas. Bestthing on my plate was the beans. Tri tip was ok. Nothing special. Chicken I believe they cook in the oven and is not bbq'ed.Liquid smoke substitute. No mixed drinks. You have to order from the counter. No table service. Why tortillas. Where's the bbqgarlic bread? Very disappointing. Read more

Pleasant surprise, stopped on the way while we were travelling. Had the "small" pulled pork sammy... and by small, I mean at... least a 5" diameter sandwich! Great smoky flavor, good prices! Read more

Food is not worth the price. Tri-tip is salty, fries and onion rings taste like old oil. Potato salad was mediocre. Soft drinks... were flat. Only thing worth the price were the happy hour drinks. Not sure how this place has 4.6 stars, it should be rated morelike a 3.6 stars. Read more

My husband and I shared the bbq tri-tip with beans and rice. The tri-tip was tender with lots of bbq flavor and the beans were... delicious. I would definitely go back. Read more

A coworker recommended this place since we were staying close by in Pismo Baech. About a 20 minute drive from the pier. This... place has now made our list of go-to places when we are in the area! Unfortunately they ran out of brisket on a Tuesdayafternoon, which was recommended. But the tri tip dip sandwich definitely made up for it, as well as the Santa Maria ????. Mywife mentioned that the pork ribs she ordered was the best she's had in a really long time. Her only complaint was she should'veordered a full rack, even though she wouldn't have finished it. Their sides of chili and potato salad were good as well.Definitely recommend the chili, it had a little kick to it, which was way tasty. Read more
