The menu is full of odd pairings and the restaurant’s prices are extremely off course with the quality of food. The cocktails... were unbalanced and lacked complexity. The 1 star is for the waitress who was reasonably pleasant. Read more

First time here and we’ve been wanting to try this place for months. We made the mistake of going after the Norfolk Fall Wine... Festival. The bar area was PACKED which made our wait time for drinks super long. The restaurant has two sections: a bar areafor happy hour and the regular dining section. The bar area is pretty loud, so if you’re looking for a quiet meal, I’d getseated away from there. Our server was named Wilson and gave exceptional service. The filet was tender, cooked to perfection andvery flavorful. The duck was even better. Previously when I’ve had duck it has been greasy and gamely tasting. This wasanything but that. I will say they are pretty finicky about what sides you can substitute for what is supposed to accompany theentree. I would recommend this place but definitely make a reservation unless you sit in the bar area. Read more

Went here for restaurant week. Service was exceptional and the restaurant itself is beautiful. The food was mostly good and they... have a great wine selection. The ambiance was nice and relaxed. Overall enjoyed the experience and glad we choose to try it outfor our date night. Read more

Four of us went here for dinner and I would never go back since the food was less than okay. Our bill was a little over $320.00... without tip and nothing we ate was remotely even worth bragging about. I will start with the twelve fried shrimp at $48.00;they were extremely salty and not worth $4.00 a shrimp. They were medium sized butterflied shrimp and had a lot of breading onthem even though we were told they were lightly breaded. My daughter ordered the meatloaf, and it was not worth the price. Iam not sure what this meatloaf recipe consists of, but I have had better in many other places. My pepper seared salmon wasextremely small, and it had about two brussels sprouts sliced underneath it; again, not worth the money. The salmon flavor wasnothing as described. The scallops were small and not very flavorful. My son's lamb chops at were undercooked. The watermelonand feta salad was one of the most disgusting dishes I ever tried. Now maybe, that is just me with this salad and other recipestaste better, but this was horrible to everyone at the table. I could go on and on with all the dishes at my table. My pointis the food should be a decent size and extremely good if I spend over $320.00 for four of us. I understand the portions aresmaller in high-end restaurants, but the food should be extremely memorable! The waitress was very nice but extremely slow. Not impressed with this place at all. Thanks. I wanted to be more impressed, but it wasn't out of this world. Food was good, service was okay. We probably won't come back... since it was a mediocre experience for us. Food: This is one of those places that slice your meat for you. Now, I know somepeople love that, but I don't. I want to see the presentation. I want to see my pork chop on the bone... not just some slicedmeat on a plate. I also hate when my meat comes sliced for me because it gets cold so fast. Overall, my mac and cheese waslukewarm, the meat was lukewarm, and the apple slices were hot. The food did taste good though. And portion size was perfect. Myfiance's leg of lamb was also just some sliced meat on a plate. But his meat was cooked the exact temperature that he asked for.So overall, it was good... Not great, but good. Service: It seemed that we might have had a newer server. He seemed nervous. I'mnot mad at that, but when going to a nicer restaurant, I do expect a certain level of service. A great server makes you feelwelcome and important. My fiance surprised me with a proposal and the box was on the table. The server made absolutely nomention of it. It wasn't expected that he should, but that is the difference between great service and mediocre service. We alsothrew him off when we didn't order our main course right away. He told us it ruined the flow of the meal. We explained that wewanted a break between the apps and the entree because we wanted to relax and enjoy the meal and the moment. The restaurant wasnot busy, so we certainly weren't holding up a space. Overall, service was adequate and not great. Summary: This was def not abad experience, but it was def not a great experience. My family enjoys a fine dining experience at least once a week and this was the absolute best meal we’ve had in years!!! The... ambiance is soothing and relaxing, the staff friendly and courteous, but there are not words adequate enough to describe themeal and overall dining experience. Our entrees were prepared as requested to perfection. We enjoyed the filet (medium rare andwell) and crab cakes along with our bottle of dinner wine and Prosecco accompanying dessert. I live in Orlando and would gladlytravel to Virginia once a month to enjoy a meal at Todd Jurich’s Bistro ???????????? Read more

Well, first of all, I loved the consideration of my date's sensitivity to gluten. The chef was able to make everything gluten... free and the food was incredible! The crab cakes my date had were the best part of the meal. The waitress was very kind, nice, and didn't bother us over and over. It was inconvenient that the two wines ordered were not in stock, but the wine given wasgood and I liked the taste. The place was very clean and the environment was calming, quiet, and cozy. It did not feel crowdedor congested, even with a large group near us. The atmosphere was welcoming and we really enjoyed ourselves. The location isright near a parking garage and downtown so it is convenient to get to. Now, the dessert was delicious. We shared a darkchocolate cake. I am a simple man so that was all I needed and she really enjoyed it. There was a lot on the menu I wanted totry, so maybe we will be back soon. I recommend this place as a date. It is not too formal but dress nice. Read more
