After a long , fun day at the beach, my family and I were hankering for some quality burgers last Thursday (August 11, 2022). I... googled, "best burger place near me", and some joints appeared. Perhaps it was the close location, or the words, "burger andbeer", that was enough to intrigue us; and so my wife and I headed down to the establishment, grabbed a couple of stools andordered two drafts while we looked at the menu and soon made our order of 3 burgers with sides, to go. I am not exaggeratingwhen I say that we waited a long time for our take-out order to be ready...I would say at least a half an hour, but it reallyfelt more like 45 minutes. I ordered a second beer to passed the time, but when a large paper bag was finally presented to us, Iquickly chugged the last of my beer, took the bag and paid the 70 dollars and change (along with a ten dollar tip), for the 3beers consumed and what I thought was 3 burger deluxe orders. Being that we were very anxious to get home and get to-eating, Ipurposely overlooked the fact that I was not given a receipt, nor any offer of napkins or condiments. Even an apology for theridiculous long wait may have gone a long way...but it gets worse. When we arrived home, we discovered that although we've paidfor three orders, there were only two. I had to share my order with my wife since it was getting late and we were too tired togo back at that point, so I called them after we ate. I don't know if the woman took the call was the same one who served us,but she (Noel, as she referred to herself when I asked) apparently knew who I was and asked for my phone number. She stated thatsomeone would call me in a day or two, I can only imagine that she may have been referring to her boss; and we would becompensated. It has been a week, and I am unhappy to say that I have not been contacted, so I feel compelled to pass on thisexperience to any potential future customers...check your order and ask for a receipt! This was me and my son's first time here at Hudson burgers and we will definitely be coming back when were in town! From finding... out it is my son's birthday and putting a candle in his milkshake to the AMAZING food put out by the chef to the bartender whowas such a sweetheart and very catering to our needs and (picky child) just all around great place awesome people and perfectatmosphere! This place has some of the best food I have had in a long time. The burger was so savory, you can taste the love, that the owner... Vienna puts into it. The bartenders are also cool, Tony, Ray, and Noel consistently hold it down. If you see a negative reviewjust keep in mind that many small businesses are working through staffing shortages ever since COVID. I can assure you that thefolks at Hudson Burgers & Beers have every intention of giving every single customer a pleasant experience and to feel welcomewhile they are there.
