I am actually reviewing Nigel?s new space in Hanahan, SC. This is my first time trying out any of Nigel?s restaurants. What can... I say? It didn?t disappoint. I went during the soft opening and it was ahhhmazing. The food was absolutely delicious. Full offlavor and it took me back to my childhood of eating my families cooking. The only negative thing I have to say is that I didn?ttry this place earlier. Please, please do yourself a favor. Don?t hesitate in giving Nigel?s a try. That man puts pure love inhis food and you can certainly taste it in every bite. His wife, Mrs. Louise came by the table to ask my friend and I howeverything was. She was very kind and sweet, just a final touch to a wonderful experience. Thank you Nigel and Louise, you trulyhave something special. Arrived around 5:30,pm on a Friday and was immediately seated. No reservation required. Not too crowded when I arrived. Ordered... my food and was served in about 15 min. The meal was hot, tasty and affordable. The portion was plentiful. Restaurant is locatedat the end of a shopping mall and there is ample parking. Baked turkey wings, baked mac & cheese, collards, rice & gravy,cabbage and ice tea. I do recommend and will return. I also enjoyed the music selection in the background. Staff friendly andcourteous. We were in town for a birthday getaway. Found Nigel's. The waitress we had was wonderful. The food OMG. Excellent. Highlight of... the meal was the Mac and cheese. Only disappointed was the corn bread wasn't ready. But the staff and the Atmosphere made itworthwhile. Thank you Read more

I?m hoping this review makes some think twice or ask questions before sitting down at Nigel?s on a Monday. We stopped by for... lunch last Monday. We were greeted and seated right away, given a menu and our drink orders taken right out the gate. When drinkwere delivered and we looked through the menu the waitress informed us that Nigel?s was out of some items. Those items includedpretty much ever side dish on the menu. Mashed potatoes, potato salad, Mac & cheese, yams, Lima beans, stewed chicken, cornbreadand cobbler. I?m thinking why would you even be open or why not have a sign on the door, why seat us start to serve us and thenbasically tell us you have only French fries, rice, and grits before you locked us in and started delivering services? Myhusband orders pasta and I went with a hamburger steak and white rice with gravy. My food came out and the patty was kinda looseor breaking apart when it was plated, about a quarter of the way in the inside of the patty was RAW. I call the waitress overshe removed the plate immediately when she came back the kitchen decided that in place of my hamburger steak that had peppersand onions mixed in they would give me a regular kids size hamburger patty and then put a few onions on top of it. Needless tosay I was offended. I left the plate untouched and asked for the check. The waitress asked what was wrong and asked if I wasunpleased because the kitchen manager gave me a small hamburger in place of what I ordered. I expressed all of my concerns evenabout being bait and switched from the time we walked in. The waitress said Mondays are rough because they don?t have people toprep after being off on Sundays and they have a truck delivery on Mondays so they are often out of stock on Mondays. I won?t beback waitress was great, everything else about Nigel?s makes me wish we had spent our money with a business that is prepared andprofessional. Food was okay. I expected chunks of meat in my okra soup but I guess that's how it's made. My husband enjoyed his gumbo and Mac... and cheese. The cornbread was good. I'll get something different next time. Read more

Nigel's Good Food has great food I'd say! This black owned restaurant gets my ?food for the soul" stamp of approval! When I am... in Charleston SC visiting, this will be a spot I'll be sure to have to visit! -The fried shrimp and fish were cooked toperfection with great flavor. -Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes were on point! -Gumbo had very good flavor, plenty ofseafood/sausage/chicken/veggies -Hush Puppies were moist and seasonsed well -The service was great and the staff was veryfriendly. Sheree was great and polite. The fried chicken was amazing and the macaroni and cheese and right with me! I?m always skeptical... of collard greens but they were tasty. My husbands friend pork chops was great also. Everything was seasoned perfectly and thatpecan pie was delicious. Will definitely come back again! Read more

Food here was excellent. Our server, Sheree was phenomenal. She was very attentive but not intrusive. We ordered the gechee... wings to start. They were crispy and covered in a unique and flavorful sauce. Our food arrived shortly after and was hot andappealing. We ordered yams, corn bread and rice with our chicken.
