Hmm my review is torn…food was good, service was meh. I’ve been meaning to try Forge Southern Comfort food for a while. I... finally carved out some time to stop by for a visit. Pros: 1-Atmosphere: the place is very open and welcoming, 2-Food: The foodwas delicious. My portion size was just right; however, some people may feel the portion size is a bit small. BE WARNED thevegetables are cooked in pork! I decided to sub my fries for Brussel sprouts at the last minute. Once they arrived I noticedbacon. When I asked my waiter if it was cooked in pork she replied “it’s southern comfort.” Okay I’ll accept myaccountability for not checking, but again it was a last minute substitute. Be aware the vegetables are cooked inPORK! Cons: 1-Service: My waiter wasn’t bad, but not good either. There was a party of five in front of me, and they ordereddessert; which my waiter didn’t even inform me that dessert was an option. Now I know my party of 1 tab is much smaller than aparty of 5, but fair is fair. It would have been nice to be offered dessert. The waiter did advise me of their dessert optionsonce I asked, but I declined because I was ready to get out of there. 2-Staff: Two waiters were eating while on the floor withcustomers present!? Okay admittedly I have had this experience, but it has always been reserved for “Island Life,” notElkton, MD. It was early lunch time, but still they just ate their lunch out on the floor. Unlike when in the islands theatmosphere is much more relax and the staff actually engages in conversation. In exchange of swiping stories, breaking breadfeels more like a family meal. Though just eating on the floor seems tacky. I am going to try them again (mainly because thefood was good). Though next time during dinner to see if my opinion changes. Read more

Amazing food. Been here before, but went here to celebrate an anniversary brunch this past weekend and loved it from the drinks... to the entrees. We had crab cakes, eggs benedict, their French toast with fruit, & strawberry pineapple mimosas. Definitelycoming back here again. Read more

This is one of the most amazing, down to earth, culinary experiences we have had in a long time. The drinks were an experience... all their own, well thought out, flavorful and with a bit of flair that actually adds to the taste. The oysters were fresh, flavorful and with a Maryland down home twist that made them interesting and delicious. My husband had the salmon and I had thestuffed rock fish. I promise you, you have never had these dishes so well done outside of a Michelin rated restaurant. Theowner/chef came out, spoke to everyone and was part of the special touch making it worth the drive. Our server was also aspecial treat, recommending dishes and just overall being a treasure to experience. Please patronize this establishment, I wantto be able to visit for years to come. Read more

I'm a very picky eater, but the food served here made me forget that I don't like vegetables. If you want to experience a taste... of "grandma's cooking" I suggest the black eyed peas and collard greens. When you decide to visit, please request Kimberly. Shetakes pride in her job and it shows. The bartender, Alicia, is awesome. You ll receive great service in a friendly atmosphere. Read more

Nice to see some upscale food in the area. All their food is made from fresh never frozen food. Very tasty and very worth it if... you ask me. Service was fantastic and a great atmosphere. We only drove by a few times before we checked it out and willdefinitely be going again next week. I took pictures of my food when I was half done. Oops. Don't forget to ask about the coolhoodies and t shirts!! Read more

One of the best experiences I’ve had food wise, everything we tried was beyond great. The halibut was one of the best seafood... experiences I’ve ever had and the grits and sweet potato pie reminded me so much of home back in Tennessee that I just don’tnormally get to experience up here in Maryland. I would absolutely come here again Read more

First of all walking in we were welcomed by the host with a smile and such a warm greeting. Which I don’t always get when... dining out. They don’t just serve southern comfort food they also serve southern hospitality. The waitress was great, shegave us all the options and made suggestions when we were unsure. I was blown away by how great the Mac and cheese was. It wascreamy cheesy and just the right amount of crunch and so much flavor. Loved it. The shrimp and grits was great. I don’t eatcorn so next time I’ll order without. However, the flavors creaminess of the grits was amazing and the shrimp wasawesome. I’ve been here with my family 2 days straight and can’t wait to go back again to try something else on the menu.Definitely a needed change for the area. My new favorite place. Read more
