Prime rib, filet, ribs, and porkchop was amazing, waitress forgot refills, forgot no tomatoes on salad. French onion soup was... amazing. Mashed potatoes were dry, thick, and tasted like flakes. Fake. Read more

I have visited two times and the food wait was about an hour and a half after ordering. The menu went from way too large to... overly simplified. It seems the restaurant caters primarily to an elderly crowd. I did not find anything exciting on the menuor that anyone ordered that was above average. I heard from others that the steak was very small and the chicken parm was notvery good. Presentation was below average across the board. I do think the burger was a good size and tasted good. It is theonly item I might recommend. Read more

What a disappointment! Made reservations & confirmed them 2 times. When we got there, we found our reservations had been reduced... to 2 people, from 4. We'd been moved to a far back corner away from the entertainment, which was one of the main reasons wecame. The NEW owner, Austin, was able to fix things quickly for us, & that was appreciated. We had a wonderful young gal waitingon us. She told us the kitchen was backing up & we would want to get our order in ASAP. So we did. Our appetizer came outshortly. Our pre-dinner drinks were good & timely. But dinner never came. One & a half hours we waited. Our server kept checkingtoo. Finally, we contacted the NEW owner, Austin. He was totally ambivalent about our situation. Stated that most folks came forthe entertainment & not dinner!!!!WHAT?? We arrived at 6:30 & left at 8:30. We were not compensated in ANYWAY. We paid for ourdrinks & appetizer & the entertainment fee (which was not posted in any of the advertising.) Was SO disappointed. Will NOTreturn, ever! Read more

We revisited Olde World Restaurant (with new ownership) at lunch yesterday. The menu was still the dated 1950s version with... bizarre Sherwood Forest names. Our server assured us there was a 21st century menu in the works for debut in late August. Shealso assured us things were updated in the kitchen with tasty results. I ordered a spinach quiche that was served with agenerous portion of yummy fruit (other sides were available). I was pleasantly surprised with the flavorful quiche and flakycrust. My wife ordered the "Melodious" chicken salad served with generous portions of potato salad, coleslaw and fruit. Thesample I tasted of the chicken salad was wonderfully well seasoned. The coleslaw was oddly "oniony" but palatable. North Portis sorely lacking a fine dining establishment, and this will not be it; despite a nice improvement over the previous version.Traffic was quite light (only a handful of tables) yet the server mentioned being short-staffed. For this lunch hour, servicewas lax with several of the servers gathered for extended conversations near the door and later in the bar. Wanting dessert, wehad to beckon to the group in the bar. The peach cobbler was delicious albeit not warm enough. Read more

Okay this place was charming and a gem had no idea we would be so well received a piano player welcomed Us in she was an... musician with wisdom we were delighted by the piano. The food was amazing not expected the best French onion soup I've had in along time I'm sorry I wasn't hungryer all I did was get a salad and it was beyond my expectations. My sister enjoyed mushroomstuff with crab they were delicious! can't wait to get to that town again just to go to that restaurant. Enjoy the wait staffwas so professional even though they were overwhelmed by being short-staffed you'd never know it by their caring ways. Read more

Went here with fishing group. One in our party was celebrating a birthday. The staff sang happy birthday and gave him a slice... of cake. Live music by a sole artist was a nice touch to our visit. Atmosphere was mature. Most patrons were over 60 yrs old.Didn't affect our gathering. I had 2 members in our party over 65. Read more

I can understand that with the impact of Covid it is hard to run a restaurant, as you can see from a few of the reviews, but... don't give up on this restaurant. We enjoyed our recent visit with good service and food. Go early on a weekday. When theyaren't overwhelmed. Read more

The interior is a bit dated, but we had a lot of fun there and the Reuben burger was really good! The servers were friendly and... seemed genuinely happy. We enjoyed our visit. Good happy hour. Read more
