This restaurant was great in the past but not anymore. We were put directly below a broken ceiling vent that was being supported... by a table, a chair, a stool, a large tub or bucket, and a piece of wood with nails sticking out of it. I am going to takea wild quess that this is not following code. On top of the wonderful death trap looking over our table, our server was awful.I'm not sure if she doesn't like kids or just doesn't like people in general but there was nothing warm or welcoming about her.She made us feel like an inconvenience and she had no idea what anyone ordered. My family and I stay at Topsail annually, and this restaurant has become a staple for us each year. The space and ambiance are... excellent, and sitting next to the massive windows overlooking the ocean makes for an enchanting dining experience. The food isalso excellent, from fried seafood to flavorful entrees. The shrimp appetizer is a particular standout! I highly recommend thisrestaurant, it's definitely the best place to eat in Topsail. The view is great, but that is about it. My steak was over cooked, I asked for it to be medium rare and it was basically well... done. The restaurant was very very warm, we over heard other guests asking for the AC to be turned on and the waitress said italready was. Our drinks were left empty for a very long time as well. And two of the staff members we interacted with weresomewhat rude? also we asked for the crab dip to go, and they put it in between two sheets of aluminum foil, which made itimpossible to heat up. Gorgeous ocean views and very picturesque for a wedding ceremony and reception, and good food. The wedding coordinator is also... part of banquet staff so $800 is too much for this service, otherwise pricing is fair. There was no coordination between DJ andbridal party processional with regards to timing and music. Also they forgot the coffee and tea service. We discussed a Toastand I assumed champagne but it wasn?t understood/ although they didn?t charge me for it so I take some responsibility. Our group ordered the shrimp and grits, California burger, one seafood platter with flounder and oyster and the second with... flounder and shrimp. Thankfully the flounder and shrimp comes broiled or fried but the oysters only come fried. You can?t mixthe two ways of preparation. So any oyster combination must be fried. The place was quite busy. It was going to be a 45 min waitso we went to the bar. It seemed that it still took that long to get our food. The wait staff did their best to get to eachtable. Our waitress noticed that only 3 of our dinners had been served and asked if the 4th dinner had been mentioned as if wereit not already promised to arrive soon, she was going into the kitchen to raise hell. I have no complaints. First off the restaurant is on the 7th floor of the 2nd building. The sign also says it. Second the menu... is a small selection of hard to find food. I had the Alaskan fish, which was good. There are some tasty mixed drinks, butthey're weak. The view is pretty cool on all sides. The inside is pretty if you don't look at the ceiling. Staff is nice. Pricegoes off of food and not portion, so it may be expensive. I'd recommend. Read more

Great food with decent prices. The staff was nice and helpful. The firecracker shrimp was AWESOME! They had the perfect amount... of spice! The fried pickles and peel and eat shrimp were both very good as well! I would order all again. The roasted redpotatoes were a bit dry. Overall a great experience with beautiful views. Everything about this venue was absolutely gorgeous and perfect for us! They make having a beach wedding as stress free as the... location itself. Amanda is such an amazing coordinator and answered all of my questions along the way without making me feellike I was a bother or that I should have known the answer already. I knew my day would go perfectly because I had her there tokeep things on schedule and make sure everything looks as beautiful as I envisioned it. Everything about my day went perfectlyand I know that Amanda had a huge hand in that. This truly was the best day ever, and I?m so grateful we decided to go withOceans Edge as our venue.
