Excellent for large groups, even 20+ people. Responsive communication during reservation, no minimum spend was much appreciated... (even had access to social hour menu). Efficient service, food was reasonably good and came quickly, enough options to pleaseeverybody. Automatic 18% gratuity for large groups was clearly stated in advance and when paying, we appreciated the warning tonot accidentally tip again. Read more

Brown's in Lynn Valley offers one of the better choices for casual dining east of Lonsdale, a segment of North Vancouver not... noted for great dining choices. Our visit was reserved before 5 pm on a Friday. We were seated immediately although therestaurant was busy. Service was friendly and attentive and the menu offers choices that should satisfy all, regardless ofthirst or hunger. My only complaint would be about sound. Years ago, an American newspaper began reporting on restaurant noise:"pleasantly quiet, at less than 65 dBA, up to the too-noisy-for-normal-conversation "bomb" at 80-plus dBA. Now, diners arehard-pressed to find restaurants that are under 75." My sound measuring device had Brown's well over75 dBA. Read more

2021 November Special date night. Chose Brown's Social House Lynn Valley thinking it was a good spot to sit and eat a delicious... meal and catch up. We ordered the Spicy Tuna roll & Crispy Cauliflower to start. The cauliflower was tasty. It was the star ofour meal. The tuna roll wasn't great. I would not order that again. For dinner we each settled on a bowl. The Tuna Poke Bowland the #28 Dragon Bowl with chicken. For desert we shared the Key Lime Pie & Oreo Cheesecake jar. The Tuna Poke Bowl isusually my go-to. I've had it before at various Browns locations and it hadn't disappointed... Until tonight. I'm not sure whatit was, but it was a little off. It wasn't as tasty or generously portioned as I've experienced in the past. This wasunfortunate. Sadly, I did get I'll later that night. I reached out to the restaurant ocer email and they did express concern andwanted to look into the situation. The Cheesecake was good. Key lime wasn't spectacular. With tip and NO drinks, our meal cameto just shy of $100. Not a great value. Unfortunate. Not sure I'll return. ***UPDATE*** 2022 March Despite my previousreview I did return with a different date. We went for lunch and shared the Tuna Poke Bowl (I clearly blocked out my lastexperience) and the Crispy Chicken Tacos. The kitchen kindly plated both dishes in half for us to share. Went to Browns, the hostesses and our server Sophie were excellent! The food on the other hand was not. The cauliflower order... was happy hour for $7 not sure if it is just a half order but then that isn?t a deal of any kind. The pile of guacamole was sotiny it was disappointing. We also ordered lettuce wraps and fries both were very small. I have not noticed my portions beingso tiny in the past. The lettuce wraps were all sauce as well. Browns has always been consistent in quality. I tried the new beef noodle bowl which was great. Highly recommend, although I... think the dragon bowl is a bit better. Can?t go wrong at browns with anything on the menu. Read more

Extremely expensive for a simple veggie meal. Very disappointed as this was very burnt. We did take out and it was too late once... we discovered most of the meal was burnt. We didn't even mind removing the inedible pieces, however the rest that was unburntstill tasted burnt. Very sad for $50. Read more
