Place is getting a bit run down, staff is friendly and attentive. Food was good, basic fare. Had the Western omelette, it was... good, a bit messed up in the plate and looked more like a scramble than an omelette. Tasted good though. Smashed potatoes weregood. Wife had waffles, she said they were good. Very quite Tuesday morning, felt sorry for the staff as it was reallyslow. Once they recover from the COVID losses, they will need to spend a bit of money to recover some of the benches as theyare getting ratty, and torn. Overall, I'd go again, you can rely on it being good food and consistent. Read more

First time to visit this establishment. Service was quick. I ordered the Clubhouse ( comes with fries). The meal came fast... and I was pleasantly surprised as the portion was big and it had real turkey breast on it. It was quite tasty. Prices areactually pretty low compared to most restaurants. It was a nice change to have some good food. I will definitely be back . Read more

Been coming here for decades with family and for the first time had a horrible experience. Seems like the ownership has changed... and it is quite evident. We decided to go in this morning to enjoy a family brunch. I ordered the royal pancake and my husbandordered the pancake combo. The pancakes just didn't seem right, they weren't fluffy and tasted off. It was evident that thebatter was left out and had gone bad. The coffee was watered down and after telling the waitress the coffee tasted like water, she brought another one. This one was a tad bit better but had a burnt taste to it. Let's just say I didn't enjoy thecoffee. After coming home, we all have an upset stomach (including my 1.5 year old). So disappointed and will not be returning.Sad to see such a great North Shore spot gone. Read more

The 80s we knew and loved is back. We enjoyed a perfect diner breakfast on a recent Sunday morning. Our orders were taken... promptly and our food arrived about 10 minutes later. Not gourmet, but excellent food and wonderful service, which is exactlywhat we wanted. Thanks to our server Joshua and manager Natasha. You are doing everything right! Read more

Saturday brunch - 11:30am very busy but got in within 15 mins. Waited 15 minutes to place our coffee and food order. Food... arrived 15 minute later, hot - flavourful and massive portions. Nice server. Reasonable prices. Average ambiance. Read more

The 80s was recently purchased by the Smoke & Bones folks. Still looks the same, some of the same staff, some of the same menu... items but a different looking menu. Loved that you could customize your omelette fillings (not possible in the past withoutupcharge) though I did miss cheese as a basic filling. The 80s Special Scramble, however, had the addition of hashbrowns butnoticeably fewer eggs on top and was disappointing. We'll keep coming back to try our favs! Read more

First of all going to say, love how the staff members are actively making sure everyone is vaccinated and following proper covid... policies. Location + staff: 10/10 The staff are insanely friendly, and always doing their best to provide the best experiencefor us. There are various choices, I had gotten the tuna melt. The price was reasonable and the taste was delightful. I'ddefinitely recommend going to 80s for brunch. The only thing negative is their milkshake amount, their glass makes it look alot bit it's actually a very small amount which was disappointing for the price. Read more
