I ordered take out from here a couple weeks ago. The portions were ridiculously small for a high price. I called to check that... our order was filled correctly. Instead of acknowledging my complaint, the manager made excuse after excuse. I would notrecommend this place. The food taste and value is not worth how much they charge you. Read more

We visited Tamarind Hill twice now and enjoyed our meal there both times. The first time we went for dinner and found it to be... quite dark and cold inside. The restaurant is small with not too many tables but enough to still get a seat though it's quiteclose to each other, which we didn't like. The second time we attended a family birthday party dinner and the seating wasagain, very tight. They pushed the smaller tables together by the bench against the wall and it was hard to get in and out, especially with a baby car seat. The food was delicious with a large variety of Malaysian dishes. We were glad to see thatthere were spicy and non spicy dishes, some more flavourful than others. We ordered all kinds of meat and veggie dishes likelaksa, satay, coconut rice, fish etc etc. The food was fresh and hot and everyone enjoyed eating. The AC was turned off and itbecame quite hot and stuffy especially after eating spicy dishes. The service was excellent and AC was turned on promptly.Overall we enjoyed our dinner and will return again. Read more

Unlikely to return. Food so-so. Suspect had some sort of additive, as we both reaction to have this sedated feeling after foods... with mystery ingredients. Very dark interiors even during a bright sunny day. This visit, the middle age Asian server was a bitabrupt in service. Read more

I absolutely love this restaurant and food, but very disappointing to see I paid $22 for this small portion of beef rendang!!??... I was appalled when I got home. The Okra dish I ordered had 3 small pieces of okra and the rest was all green beans and 5eggplants pieces and 2-3 shrimp. I paid for a dinner portion and received what I believe is a lunch portion and I am just notpleased for lack of value. I was asked to come pick up what they told me, the additional portion that was supposed to be givenin the first place, but it is so inconvenient and far. They should have sent me a delivery. I simply will not order from hereanymore. I get way more value from other restaurants. Read more

It?s the only Malaysian restaurant on North Shore. We usu go there when we crave for Laksa. Food & service are not bad. If... you order take out, it?s better to go early & wait, ?cause we saw they just left the take-out near the entrance. Read more

I was craving for authentic Malaysian food and found this place through Yelp. I ordered the classic Nee goreng which were tasty... and reminded on street noodles in India so unexpectedly served a different nostalgic purpose. My husband opted for Char kwayTeow and Singaporean shrimp wasn't too excited about the flavour profiles and taste. All in all, an average experience. $19.5 for half hainanese chicken without rice, and the chicken was pretty bad, even the hainanese chicken from any food court... are way better than it. And it's not half of the chicken :( It wasn't fresh. Have to order the hainanese rice separately ($3),and the rice is not good as well. Laksa was way too salty, only 2 thin slides of egg. And only gave one pair of chopsticks for 3of us. Read more

Not that great of a dining experience. Ordered the chicken curry but didnt come with eggplant and described on the menu. They... explained that the dinner menu didn't include eggplant, which didn't make sense - preferred more veggies. Found the flavour ofall the dishes (except the satay lamb) too salty. Wouldn't go back. Read more
