Was here for a birthday party recently. Beautiful restaurant & grounds! Wait staff was very pleasant & efficient. The food was... fresh & tasted mostly delicious however I had a breaded chicken dinner with crab that was odd. The crab was just spooned on topinstead of stuffed inside the breast, which would have been best. I wasn’t able to finish it since the meat was tuff.Otherwise a pleasant & beautiful place with great history! Read more
What an all-around amazing place with staff that go above and beyond. I stayed here for my wedding weekend and had my rehearsal... dinner and after party (but not my actual wedding) here and by the end of the weekend I wished I had booked my ceremony andreception with them as well! The food was out of this world, the service was unmatched, the property was beautiful, and theaccommodations were immaculate. I cannot give this place high enough praise. People were friendly food was good. Felt rushed to eat. Was brought bread. Before we had a chance to have a piece the... appetizer was brought out, main course was brought out before appetizer was finished. Was barely done with our meal when wewere asked if we were ready for the check. So for the service the rating was a 2 especially for the price of the meal! I had my wedding here 06/25/22 and rate it a 10/10. Jamie and Dana were so responsive when I had questions (and there were A... LOT) and made my day exactly how I pictured. I loved the property and that it had overnight accommodations. I love how they haveup to 3 getting ready spaces too. They did updates to the ballroom and patio which looked stunning. So much potential at this place with the right management. I’ve stayed here twice, and will never do so again. On both... occasions there was something drastically wrong with the room. On this occasions, the A/C window unit was not properly seated orsealed in the wall which didn’t allow proper cooking and allowed insects in. The toilet was also running — of course I couldfix it each time, but I shouldn’t have to fix a toilet at a place that I’m paying $180+/night to stay. The front deskcouldn’t care less about the issues, and they sent a maintenance tech to “fix” the A/C unit. He threw two pieces of tapeon there that quickly peeled back due to the humidity and vibrations of that unit itself. The room I stayed in is above thekitchen/restaurant area — which was fine; however, that floor was not cooled at all and it was musty and warm on the floor. Tomake matters worse, the next morning, the cleaning crew started vacuuming at 7:30 AM. While I am happy they are cleaning (I hadmy doubts), it’s right outside of occupants doors. Lastly, as you walk the grounds, you can see there is not only a ton ofpotential, but they are also working on things. While, again, I appreciate that, it is unappealing when hoses, tables, and toolsare left scattered across the property when the work for the day has ceased. Again, it’s just not what you want for the pricewhen you can go down the road and get something cleaner, safer, and more comfortable for cheaper. Read more
Made dinner reservations for a special occasion. The grounds are beautiful and impressive. It was a busy night because there was... an event in an adjoining building. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We were not rushed and took our time ordering,eating and talking. The dinner menu is pricey but there is lighter fare at lower costs. (You can see their menu online.) TheChilean Sea Bass was very good as well as the risotto. Sea scallops were cooked perfectly and delicious and also came withrisotto. The cheese steak sandwich was very good. In my opinion, the only criticism would be that the plated food presentationwas boring. It didn’t represent the upscale cost of the meal. And 4 sea scallops for dinner was not enough. It would be moresatisfying if 5 were plated. Again, the food was very good but the presentation needs more eye appeal. Read more
