My friends and I wanted to try a new restaurant along this food strip so we found this spot on Yelp. It was a nice surprise and... we are happy with the drop in on this never heard before place till now. The restaurant is very dark inside. The lighting isvery dim. The decor is very bar like. However the menu tells us different as it was a very long list of food options than thedrink list. The food was very flavourful and very saucy. We had ordered the ribs (which takes 20 minutes to make so orderahead), cold tofu and egg appetizer and eggplant with garlic dish with two bowls of rice on the side. The bowls of rice was muchneeded for this family style meal as all the food items were very heavy in the overwhelming flavour and sauce. We were engulfinga large portion of rice each time we picked up an eggplant or tofu. We would probably return again to try other menu items andwould probably ask to go lighter on the sauce so we don't load up on the carbs. Read more

Takeout. Loved: lamb skewers! Juicy with little pockets of fat. Not so great: overly salted and spiced chicken skewers, and... the surprisingly dry and tough pork belly skewers. Okay: beef skewers, steamed scallops in garlic sauce - the sauce was a bittoo salty and sweet for me, though the scallops themselves were good. Pricey overall. Friendly service. Read more

This place is a gem!!! The flavours of the BBQ are something that everyone needs to experience, with all their cumin... goodness. The pork belly was probably my favourite. But also the chicken and lamb were incredible! When cabbage was recommendedto me, I did not get it, but as soon as I tasted it, I did. It was surprisingly good! Noodles were flavourful. The servers werehomey and welcoming, and portions are decent. Read more

Our favourite place to go for Xin Jiang style skewers and spicy food closed down but luckily we stumbled onto this little gem.... The food is quite tasty, just a tad below the old spot. Their other dishes were spot on but what really wow'ed us was the greatservice. They are so attentive but not overbearing. My friend dropped her chopsticks and before we even asked, the server wasthere with a replacement. Prices are very fair and of course house beer is always on the cheap at $9/pitcher. The place is notvery big so it can get busy at times. We will be coming back here often. Edit: We've came back to this place at least another10 times after the initial review and everything is still amazing, service and food included. The cold beef salad has beenchanged from sliced beef shank (which is our favourite) to just a sliced cooked beef but the flavour is still the same. Wish wecan have the other one back. Read more

Great relatively hidden spot for Chinese BBQ skewers! The decor and ambiance is very nice and cozy, and the family that runs the... place are super friendly and helpful with service. The food is delicious, with a wide variety of skewers, meats, seafood, andappetizers you can order. I would highly recommend the grilled beef short ribs, steamed scallops, and lamb skewers. All of themwere super tasty and well-made. Would definitely come back here again for the great service, food, and ambiance! Read more

Wood house a small family restaurant specializes in Chuan or Chinese style skewers. The owner/chef and staff are all from... Northern China. I really enjoyed the skewers here. Only quality meats are used ? tender, nicely marinated and so flavourful.Nice chunks of meat that?s spiced with cumin and paprika, here are not too spicy at all. I also enjoyed the side dishes. Thebraised eggplant done in a clay pot is nicely done? garlicky, in a tomato sauce. The fried Egg and Leek another favourite? sodelicious. Bone Marrow served with toasted buns ?. another good dish to order. They are located in a strip mall south side onYonge Street just north of the 401. It?s pretty hidden but there is a bit of parking behind the mall and on the street. Formore food adventures follow me on Instagram @hungry.jo Read more
