We recently celebrated a summer birthday with a Herrell?s ice cream cake.. They ask that custom orders be placed 10 days in... advance. We were a little bit short of that but they agreed to make it anyway. They did a great job and it was delicious. Wewent pretty traditional with a layer of vanilla and another of strawberry.. In between we used fudge and cookie crumbs?Sogood!! Thank you to staff member Nora who made my phone order very easy. And to whomever decorated our cake?It was lovely?Iwould definitely order another one!!! I have just updated my review? Herrell's made it into the Yankee Magazine as one of the 36 best cream shops to visit in New England. I had been here a few... years ago but couldn't remember much about it. Once we got into the shop we figured out how to go about ordering some scream. There were plenty of workers behind the counter. After we worked our way into the service line a nice young lady asked if shecould help us. She took one order and was off to make it. Another server came and asked if we were all set. I told her someof us hadn't ordered yet. She said we would have to wait for our original server to come back for the other orders. Peoplebehind us were passing us up as we waited for more orders to be placed. The roped off section was pretty tight, so there was alot of elbow rubbing in there. After we were all paid up, we found a small table inside and and ate our ice cream. I hadwhipped cream and a cherry on top of my sunday. The chocolate fudge was nice but there was not nearly enough to satisfy mypalate. The whipped cream must have been all natural because it had zero taste and didn't stand up well in my dish. Theservings were overpriced for the size. This place didn't bring back any old memories but it did create one that will have megoing elsewhere the rest of the summer. Read more
Only reviewing from a non-dairy perspective. Overall it's a pretty solid option but I do have two minor complaints. 1) You see... all the delicious non-dairy options online only to get the 3 most bland options in-store. If I wanted chocolate or vanilla Iwould just get some ice cream from a grocery store. 2) There are actually a fair few ice chunks in the ice cream that I haven'texperienced other places offering an oat milk based option. The actual place is nice and cool on a hot day. The staff were veryhelpful and nice despite being understaffed at the moment. Read more

We have enjoyed going to Herrell's to get delicious ice cream for years! For our daughter's birthday this year, we ordered a... unicorn/rainbow ice cream cake. The cake was absolutely beautiful and super yummy - and everything our daughter could have hopedfor. She kept telling us how much she LOVED it...made all of her birthday dreams come true! Read more
Very cute ice cream shop, you can tell they are very proud of the renovations they did. They have a wide variety of flavors. I... got the vanilla soft serve with hot fudge which was good, but not as mind-blowing as I had been told it would be. Maybe I shouldhave stuck to the hardserve ice cream flavors instead. Read more
We hired the Herrell's Ice Cream on the Moove Trailer for our wedding reception and it was a huge hit! We chose not to serve... cake at all and no guest was complaining! They all loved the ice cream and everyone took full advantage. We were able to offer avariety of flavors and toppings and all of our guests enjoyed the unique idea. Judy was also quick to respond to emails and sheremained flexible when the count of our event changed multiple times (due to COVID). We would highly recommend Herrell's foryour next event! Read more
Traveled from Florida to visit Family, we stopped by here for some delicious desert and the sizes are worth their price! All the... ice cream is locally homemade and served with love. This store had a back entrance from Thorne's -- an underground shoppingplaza (which goes up three stories). I enjoyed my visit to Northampton Downtown and Herrell's Ice Cream & Bakery. ~ Today, I gota small cookies & cream dish with rainbow sprinkles, and I took my delicious time with each bite with the wooden spoon that isprovided.
